What's your gram per watt?

Hi!
Do you use the splayed heatsinks? If yes, are they very hot at 1.4A with the VERO29C? I tested them at 70W with citi1825 and they are relatively hot.. not too much but enough to let me think that at 95W it should be very hot!! thx ;)
I use 140mm x 80mm sinks. They are not splayed, just round. They get up to about 48 - 49C according to my IR temp gun. I can leave my hand on them but it does feel warm to the touch. Been working fine for 8 months so far.

Hydro for me.

my best so far was 1.35 grams per watt,, i was only growing 2 plants under 108 watts of cree cobs, hit just under 5.5 ounces dried, strain was called donkey kong
my last grow was 250 watts of cobs and hit 11 ounces dried and that works out to be 1.23 grams per watt, that was 2 plants chernobyl and headband

yep... so 1.6 gpw per sq meter. 1.6kg = 1600 grams divided by 1000w

If his grow is 2 sq m then he is up around 3 gpw.
most hids use more than the bulbs power at the wall. probably 1100 W there

also he never said he has 2 sq meters, so the "3GPW" is basically a wild assumption

Last grow I had 3 ounces of high quality shake that I trimmed off (final trim) that I see most people using as weight with their pictures. I also see pictures of people weighing buds that are 6" long but you can see large stem in the middle where the buds should be cut off into smaller pieces.

To boot, people try to blow up their numbers on the internet to impress. Oh, then there are strains, and phenotypes of those strains, and many other variables.

Safe assumption, 1gpw or better for quality LED lighting (45%+ efficiency). .6gpw or better for SE HPS. Anything above is great.

While it is a fucking outstanding grow, there are many variables to it. Look at the veg time. His veg time is longer than many of us veg/flower for. You have to consider that into it all. Too many variables to compare every grow by GPW. Also on a vert, you are growing differently. You need major height for it. Maybe a square meter, but he is growing all the way around and high. With a 3 month veg time, training, and height like that, you can obtain the same numbers without a vert grow. Its all in what you want to do. His grow is nothing short of amazing though no doubt. I also feel that longer veg times building a stronger base and being able to super crop will lead to higher yields in any type of lighting. That is why outdoor is such a beast. The sun is great no doubt, but with 3-5 months of vegging, the plant builds a good foundation.

Yes its an assumption it could be a 3 sq m canopy for all i know. Thats why i said "if".. I dont think its to wild an assumption..2 sq m is not a huge amount for a long veg.

Did you check out the grow before throwing out the "wild assumption" remark?

Yup, thats the same thing i do over here,, just grow for myself, even small harvests last me months, some jars are getting pretty old over here, hahaha,, good times
Same. Just me and family, but a couple of friends don't complain if I throw a little sunshine their way. ;)

I've made tincture, and will probably make some butter also. Even with a 3x3 tent, I grow more than I use. Sip growing really upped my yields.

same here, SIps took me from 5 zips to 11 in my grow space,, next time i need to control thos lower sucker branches,, sips seems to make load of them hahaha

I went from 10 x 1 quart mason jars of mixed quality to 15 of better quality bud. I also ended up with a lot of extract quality I didn't jar up. I did defoliate, but I didn't lolipop. This round I'll use a trellis and lollipop everything below it and trim the lower buds off.

So back to the topic, this rabbit hole shows that gram per watt is effected by a LOT more than just what light you use. It's useful only for personal comparison, not group comparison. You could probably give 5 of us the same tent, light, pheno, and media, and we would get 5 different results.

I watched Pedro's "S.I.P.s - How to - With product links", my mum has pots like that!
I thought that sort of thing would be a massive root rot risk for us.
I suppose the living soil counteracts that, and, I was very interested to hear that he was adding anaerobic microbes.
I thought roots needed oxygen, like foliage needs co2.
What's going on? Where am I? :D

it can cause massive root rot, that's why you use beneficial microbes
