@Jimdamick Yeah I won't argue with you on that. I know I'm catching some heat for this, but I was going to vote for Trump...I didn't though. Voted for Johnson. I just wanted change. Trump made a huge mistake cutting back on infrastructure, no doubts.

I believe the NFIP was in trouble before Trump, as they may not have been charging enough for coverage. Now here comes Trump and makes things more difficult, I would like to kick him in the dick.

I know you guys are going to be pissed and say it's people like me are to blame for Trump. Well, sorry. I didn't vote for him, deep down I knew he wouldn't be able to steer our country in the right direction. When I did vote, I put my insignificant needs aside and voted for the person I thought would be better for all of us and our country.

I'm trying to do my best every minute of every day what's good for our country, I treat people with respect and I help people whenever I can.

I have seen some pictures of the disaster in Texas that make me damn proud to be an American....black, brown and white folks working together as a team.

As unhappy as a lot of folks are with Trump, we have to quit fighting each other and stop letting one man divide us. Me, you and the rest of the country are above all the hate, animosity and division.

Few homeowners get flood insurance who aren't in a Federal floodplain area and therefore required to by their lender. It's pretty expensive, even if it is Federally subsidized.

This is such an historic flood that MOST of the damage is outside of (read 'above') the designated floodplain areas; it's that big of an event.

On the other hand, Houston has had '500 year flood events' in EACH OF THE LAST 3 YEARS. Maybe it's the new normal? Gotta love climate change! Paving over swamps, channels, bayous and plains for development didn't help matters any, either. But of course they just profited from stupidity, can't hold them accountable!

I wonder if Texas will actually do something about it this time- or will they continue to chalk it up to Acts of Gawd?

After all, political responsibility is as alien a concept in Texas as it is in Washington DC.

Cynical? Sure! Now show me a Texan who disagrees with anything I've said...

There is talk of a bigger sea wall. Climate change is seen as an engineering opportunity in Texas.

I'm not defending the idea. I think it's obnoxious. And as you say isn't sufficient anyway. But this will be a popular program with Republicans. You are talking about policy makers who have no difficulty denying inconvenient science.

I'm hoping that this, helps trump realize the gravity of his position. since its a hurricane and not a person/country or anyone he can blame, or argue with.

that he has citizens depending on some of his decisions. and that his "show" is for real.

if you are in the lower SoCal area Costco has trucks out front, that are filling up with donations and hitting the road soon as they are filled.

No. Chrump has spent his whole life spitting on the 'little people'. Why stop now? It's clear that our utterly dysfunctional political system won't hold him accountable for it.

He's already been there, took the microphone and made himself the 'I' of the storm. Next!
