I saw a thread a few days ago that someone was asking about crossing an auto with a photoperiod male(?) and if the seeds would be photo or auto and if they would be REG of FEM. You mentioned your seeds came out photo. Would your beans be 50/50 shot of being ruderalis AND photo, or just one or the other?
Its complicated.
I crossed a reg male to fem auto. We can rule fem out. It takes two fems to make fem seeds.
It will vary by strain. Each one has been worked different.
It can be anywhere from 0-50% that keep the auto trait. Out of the seeds I made I popped about 20. All where photoperiod. I think like 6 males out of the bunch.
If I keep popping them I'm sure I would find one that autoflowered. If i found a male and female that auto flowered I would cross them and keep the pollen from the male. I would then select future generation females that Auto flowered to back cross to the male.
It is hard to breed stable autos. It has taken years to go from the shitty autos to the good ones.
I am sure there are tricks to breeding autos. I just haven't figured them out yet. Lol.
I will breed photos to autos in the future if I think they re worth keeping. I label anything I cross with an auto. I like autos but I also like photos.
I am very pleased how the cross to the livers turned out.
That's about as specific as I can be. Its sort of a toss up.
