Im runing to 600 watt mh in my veg room would it be best to mix spectrem And add a hps instead of 2 mh.

For veg, cmh/lec or led.

Flower, or Veg.

1 x 315w CMH for every 600w Hortilux 600w HPS.

2 x 315w CMH for every 1000w. 57w sq/ft in a 4 x 4

For hardcore Sativas its best to exceed 60w sq/ft. No less than 50, for any of it.

1000w in a 4 x 4 = about 66w sq/ft.

Did not answer my question at all i know i have plenty of watts for my area im runing 2 600 watt mh lights in a 4x5 area 1,200 watrs is plenty. my question is would i get better results by putting a hps bulb in and taking a mh bulb out

Id use a Hortilux for flowering. So IMHO youre better off with 2 x HPS, but with a color corrected Hortilux Bulb. I also veg with them.

For veg, I dont think it will make much difference, if youre using a good HPS bulb, and not 1 that's Not Color corrected with some blue.

If it came down to cheap non color corrected HPS bulb vs Halide. Id use the Halide everytime.

Like I said. I myself use the color corrected Hortilux HPS. Technically Halide may have a better color spectrum for veg.
