dont get too carried away with mini hempy growing yet. Small containers come with problems (as I've learned like spikes in EC, crazy pH swings etc.) and should probably be left until you have a few semi-hydro grows under your belt so you know how to deal with the problems that come up. coming from soil I've had a few issues that I've had to deal with and without knowing your shit there's a real possiblilty you'll needlessly kill plants. By all means go nuts just know it's not as simple as dumping in nutes and all will be fine. First bit of advice if growing in tiny containers: look at the recommended strength then halve it. Now, halve it again. Then watch as it climbs up to 1000 ppm after its been there for a day then wonder how you won't fix it without a crazy flush every 2nd feed. Like I say. Not that easy :D. Low strength nutes more often seems to be the go for small hempy, just don't overwater to achieve this goal or you'll get bitten in the arse.
Not to discourage you, the growth is mental but it's not nearly the same as growing in dirt.
One thing though, piss off your idea of toothpicks and avocado seeds and do what @OzCocoLoco says and fill the rez with perlite. Your roots will rot if you don't.

There I've written a novel, hope you don't tap out before you've read it all :D

If you look at the guys doing pure hydro like rdwc they run really low ppm or e.c and the good growers are fanatical about p.h and p.h swing,the reason is there’s nothing to buffer it like with coco or soil. You can literally kill a plant in under 24 hours doing hydro.

Ended up with 43 starts so i should be fine for numbers.I’d rather not run any runts if I can avoid it,I’ve some Garberville purple cross fems turning up soon so I may pop half a dozen just in case a few of these don’t wanna push on. Yep. I saw problems fast and fixed them fast. It's really unforgiving growing hempy style when it's not right. I cooked a few leaves when I was finding my feet and it kills me to see a plant looking like that. Once I got the nutes down then I had to raise my fucking light 6 inches as the poor little ladies were getting smoked under the LEDs. Almost made me go back to dirt to be honest but I'm going to get a crop or two through then evaluate what my preference is. Good soil is hard to beat for simplicity, I just need to run numbers for a bit to get through the many seeds I have to find a decent male for seed. Hoping for 2 males (1 of each) out of the skywalker og x NL and the PK x Malawi

What nutes are you using ? They sound like nice crosses hope you find something killer in amongst them.

Just using the GH maxi range to start off. Haven't got a hydro shop within 100 km so thought I'd get bang for buck, just need to tone it down for this style of growing. Yeah these beans are sposed to be pretty bomb. It's a super nice og and a really promising northern dad. the PK is a bit of a treasured cut locally crossed with Malawi to make it a bit different. Looking at the seedlings it looks like it will be a nice 50/50 hybrid so I reckon the PK x Malawi is going to be well worth it. I have another dozen or so of them so if it turns out well I'll be dropping more and might turn it into a bit of a project. Seems like a good fit - yield should be pretty good and Malawi brings a lot of vigour and resistance into the mix. Might be able to find something that can do the business but handle mould a bit better. If it all works out I'll be giving plenty to the local growers to help em out a bit. If anyone here is keen I should have a few hundred seeds in the coming months to spread around

i dident tap out maybe for the mini one ill just do a blue berry or tomato for the exp ill probly just follow the advice and do it properly im gunny eather get that light or make a cob set up for it im gunna or somthing i wanna have it like kinda stealth like a buket ontop so its its own grow box and maybe scrog and train it or somthing

Fuck it dude may as well do it with dope. Then you'll get some smoke if it all works out. If you need burner seeds I have fuckin heaps of unknowns that you can have

ill keep it in mind cheers ill be right tho i think iv got no worries atm with getting seeds im gunna build one see how i go then im gunna biuld a couple and do a scrog my goal now is 2 try and grow as mutch bud buy next summer fuck batling the heat n shit lol
