lights convert electrical energy to light and heat. a 315 watt cmh will produce more light and less heat than those cheap leds.2 450 watt viperspectra lights. they produce 55 watts of light and 345 watts of heat. a 315 watt cmh produces 100 watts of light and 235 watts of heat. young people love technology that they don't understand but to someone trained in electrical engineering technology is just a tool and it is important to chose the right tool for the job but to do that you need to educate yourself. that lightimetunnel cob you like uses 45mm epileds just like other cheap grow lights and are just as inefficient as any other led grow light on e-bay or amazon. if you want an efficient white LED for a reasonable price then look at the bridgelux eb or samsung 561 strip lights.these will give you 159 LPW at 700ma and do not need a heat sink if driven at 700ma or less.if you can't wire a simple series circuit and don't have $800-$1000 for a plug and play grow light then LEDs may not be the best choice for youeverybody knocks me for it for some reason but I'm super impressed with lighttimetunnel cobs. for the price the amount of light from it is unreal, can't see my projector on
the heat from those though...
