Where? Plenty of people have veg rooms set up to say otherwise.
My veg room has a 400W bulb running 24/7 as more light = more growth in veg mode. I veg my gals until they are 20-24 inches tall as I know my strain will pretty much stretch to double that height during the first 3 weeks of flowering. In that way I control the height of my plants to keep them from growing into the light before they are ready to harvest. I don't think anything in my previous post contradicts successful growing protocols.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Good question. Even without going to 12/12 plants will flower on their own. We flip to 12/12 to force the plant to flower. Without adjusting the lights you may have taller scrawnier plants. Flipping allows us to better control the size of the plant and gives us better control over timing for harvest.

Good luck, BigSteve.
Only auto strains flower on there own. Photo period strains will remain in the veg state as long as they receive 16-18 hours of light. They become sexually mature while in the veg stage. Actually flowering will not occur until the light period is reduced.

although, honestly, whats the point of counting days? they're done when they're done. the only reason i count days is so that i have a rough idea how long it will take me if i want to grow more of this strain, after the first couple of plants, i know how long its going to take, no reason to count anymore

I have heard of a lot of people doing the 24hr veg. I have never tried it so I can't knock it. Do you believe that it's better for the plant. To not see any dark or rest. Basically you probably have done both and see it best at 24 rather than 18-6

Oh I agree. The reason why I honestly posted this was just inside my own head of people that post pics of there plant. It has this huge freaking nug and it say week 3 of flower
So I'm kinda of like dam at week 3 my shit isn't like that. So I got to thinking when people start there flower day count. Lol

weed is a C3 plant needs no rest =true

( C3= when lights out stomata close plant does sleep

in sleep most sugars topmost travel south to root stock

as some do during the day,

carbohydrates down south are shifted north to build cells= growth)

but carbon exchange must happen some time

no living creature can run at 75-100% non stop

without some rest

I germ my babes and go non stop 24/7 for 2 weeks

before lights out for 8 hours

the results are staggering

good luck

Right you are. Over the years I have experimented with 20/4, 18/6, etc. But what convinced me to stay with a 24/0 veg cycle is a combination of theory and personal observation. My veggers show no signs of stress, but, I have had to make a few accomodations. For example, now I water daily so I don't have to be concerned about under-watering leading to stress. My veggers typically get 6-10 ounces of water daily. You have to experiment to see just how much water gets the healthiest looking plants.

BIG BONUS -- nothing eats up bulbs faster than clicking the ballast on and off. Bulbs last longer at 24/0. I know that sounds counter-intuitive but that is my experience. I just replaced the 400W bulb in my veg room and my notes tell me the burnt-out bulb was just about 3 years old! Bulbs do lose some power over time but my results tell me the loss is small. Bulb life and plant health are the main factors for me to stay at 24/0.

i wouldn't set the advertised flowering time in stone, not without mirroring the breeders environment.

Lower powered lights, temp, air quality can all prolong flowering time without showing any negative effects, of course up to a point.

incredible bulk at about week 5

white widow x big bud week 7, this will go ten days to two weeks more.
Female Seeds description of this plant says flowering time 7 weeks, seed to harvest 9 weeks...how does that work?
Seedsman says 50 days flowering time, i say 65 to 70 days...

the time comes to go 12x12

you note on the peg or the calender

but really it don't matter

what matters is when you come to harvest

say 90 days hence

you check the color of the trics first

good luck
lol ...I reply with a continence

one advantage of keeping tight track on your plants and times

is if to see the original breeders sales pitch is Bull..!

Often it is as many here will agree
