LED grow. Do i need a exhaust? First grow

I currently have a 2x4x5 grow tent. with 2 Northern light plants in them.

using (2) 300 watt LEDs

they have been vegging for 6 weeks now. growing great.

All I have in the tent is a regular fan sitting in the corner. and I have the top vents open so air can escape. I do NOT have a exhaust fan.


Should I get one? are they necessary? what should I do? this is my first grow. I want to flower soon

I don't care for a carbon filter, smell is no problem for me.

What if temps and humidity is perfect? the temps seem to be around 70-80 degrees and humidity around 40-75

Bigger is better. You can turn down some canfans and hypers come with an integrated speed controller.

How big is the inlet and outlet on your tent? if its 6" you need a 6" fan if 4" then a 4" fan.
I'd run a passive exhaust. This means hook up an exhaust fan to the outlet up toward the top of the tent.
Just leave the inlet near the bottom of the tent open allowing the air to just get pulled in naturally by the exhaust fan. Only use those 2 tent openings. Close off all other openings.
You can hook the fan up on the outside of the tent to save space if stealth isnt an issue and since you said you dont require a carbon filter, I'll assume this to be the case.
You could get away with less than 50cfm fan in that small of a tent. Heres a link for a 6" 240cfm free air fan. It will be more like 100 cfm once installed in the tent, but still far more than you require.

Would just the fan be fine without the carbon filter? I want to buy just the fan & just Incase I do want a carbon filter, I always have the option to get one because the fan supports it.

In a 2x4 tent 190cfm is more than enough. And yes, you do need an exhaust. LED's put out a lot of heat and will bake your plants if they are really 300. What brand lights are they?

Thats more than enough and will support a carbon filter if/when you choose to use one.
