Trichomes still mature when cold ?

Hi all.


I know plants can have very slow growth or even have new growth stop altogether when they are cold but what about trics that have already developed ?. even if the calyx do not swell will they turn cloudy and amber ?

That's hard to say. Very likely they won't mature like usual in colder temps but also won't degrade either. Amber means the THC is degrading to CBN so you want to pick them when mostly cloudy at peak THC. They will continue to degrade after cropping so no use waiting unless you can get warmer temps or want lots of amber. I prefer about 80% cloudy and 20% clear when I crop. After curing they are all cloudy and at their peak THC.

The last couple of years my outdoor grows have had plants that finished really late so they had to endure some 20 deg. weather at the end. What I saw was a definite slowing of the maturation of the trics. It also caused some terpene reduction but the potency of the weed was still very good.

Thanks, i have done a couple of grows and know when to chop but ive ran into a temp problem and night temps are hitting 16-17 degrees celcius. Seems to have slowed growth almost completely but has loads of trics still popping up and i didnt know how they was effected. If growth doesnt pick up in a few weeks i will be making some head high speedy hash .. better than nothing

Liar NOT if you want it stoney and sleepy, you do want amber! Stop spreading disinfo, we all don't want crack weed!

Bullshit, you chop at 80% cloudy and 20% clear than your bud sucks. It’s trash
