NGL had a frame like this one:

I have this. I removed the lenses seemed all they did was store heat....

I'd recommend the c1400B since you can dim it with external potentiometer.

Didnt you have a frame kit already that was in production...like a yr or so ago? Aluminum plate, square with an "x" grid pattern that held the driver and mount the cobs on the corners. You could join more than one frame together or something along those lines or am I thinking of someone else?

That spacing looks perfect for a 2x2. I consult a few vets and sick people on how to grow there own meds. My biggest hurdle is lighting in that I need a reliable source for parts. I'm the first to promote the Quantums but if I can't get them reliably then I have to look elcwhere and COBs are proven.

Yes, I use both. I also have some cobkits active light engines with citi 1825. and a couple of cobshop's autocobs. Gives us flexibility!

@CobKits Will there be a restock of the 120mm CLU048 soon?
my CXM22s pull their weight. pun intended. im happy with them and my budget 1212s by the case. if youre not pushing them too hard they stay pretty efficient.

just a thought as the cxm22s are 33 per light engine on some of them which is a hell of a deal.

Sadly, Tasty is going out of business. They are selling of their stock at 50% off. I picked up three Meanwell drivers.

@CobKits -- can you give me a brief explanation of how the two adjustments (Volts and IO) on a -48A driver function?
Thanks!
They adjust MAX output voltage and current for the driver. doesnt mean you will be operating at max voltage or current, the array has to be able to operate in those parameters. for example, on an hlg185-48A which has about 4A, max voltage is about 53.5V so if you put one ~50V cob on there that is 100W at that voltage, or ~2A. so regardless if you crank up Io, you wont get over 2A

likewise, if you have a cob array on there that maxes out the drivers current at 52V, turning Vo all the way up stil wont deliver over 52V

the driver, like the COBs, can only operate on the voltage/current profiles in their datasheets

Thanks for the response. I don't know much at all about electricity, never wrapped my brain around volts/amps/watts. All I know is that when I have a Kill-O-Watt meter hooked up and I play with the adjustments, both can impact the final watt output. I should have just asked which you recommend using to dial the light up or down?

if your plants can take it, and your heatsinks are sized appropriately, crank it up

Those are some massive angles you are using! What size space will this light cover, and how many watts per cob?
this will easily do a 4x4. half of the test tent(4x8) will be this light set to 630 watts at the wall or whatever the 630w DE CMH 3K-R hits at the plug. not gonna divide the tent up with a barrier so it wont be a true side by side even comparison but it should be close enough to get an idea if the results are way askew in one direction.

taking votes on which side will win :)

gonna try and divide up the clones as easy as possible.

The frame is 1" angle in .125(1/8") aluminum. normally i run lower wattage(37-50w) and 1 per sqft but this was a fuck around experiment and didnt wanna buy too much more shit and work with what i had. these will be somewhere between 60-65ish.
