Do you think the penetration later on in the grow say later flowering when my plant is 1.5 to 2 get tall will lack with a QB hurting my yields? I' all for the HLG QB as long as the penetration will be as least sufficient enough. I' not looking for 12 grams popcorn mugs on the bottom ya know. The cob route as you were saying is more bulky and complicated
QBs aren’t bad. Definitely not knocking QBs. But especially for a single plant, I just think it’d be better to get 1-2 COBs. Even one would probably do. Like, you could probably pull half a pound from a single plant.

QBs are made for spreading light over a wider canopy, and definitely do lack in penetration, although for 1-2 feet of foliage, it probably wouldn’t fail to penetrate too badly.

Nice!! So my next questions would be...
1.can I get 1 cob 3000k and 1 cob 3500k?
2.how hot do these cobs get, trying to stay away from using ducting to my exhaust fan if at all possible.

I could make a cob dram out of wood pretty easy. Or bad idda?

They’re not really hot. I can touch the heat sinks and my apical buds come within 2 inches of it on occasion.

You can certainly mix color temps, but I prefer 3500k 80/90 CRI, personally.

My new Timbers are passively cooled, so no cooling required either. Definitely nothing like HIDs.

You could make it out of wood, or you can get some extrusion metal and assemble one fairly easily.

These cobs seem so muchore for my set up than a QB, maybe if I had a lower cieling height and a wider base it would be viable but cobs seem like more for me considering the penetration they have

So if I were to getbyhe 2 cob kit how would I go about making a frame for them? Figured I'd just make a wooden frame and bolt it to it
You could do that in the meantime, I suppose, but you should look into all purpose extrusion-type aluminum. I imagine it would be more durable and lighter on the ratchet hooks.

I was gonna straight up buy a galaxyhydro 80$ panel/blurple light until I talked to you guys lol
Good thing we were able to talk to you first. Like I said, I made the same mistake, but unlike you, people were telling me not to, and I did anyway. Only after I got my first COB did I understand that I wasted money not once, but twice.
