I don’t know anyone who likes trimming.
I hate it, I spend weeks every yr trimming.
I was thinking about buying a professional setup, but the prices are steep.
I was thinking , could I turn this into a business? I know a retired guy,(clean record) that would like a part time job.

Would you hire someone to come to your place to trim your crop?
What would you pay per hour?
(Say I do 3-4 p an hour with a final trim/inspection)

I’ve rented different hand trimmers , and was unhappy with the results,
I thought about buying a unit n renting it, but the cost of theses units and the chance someone braking it etc , the deposit n rental would be steep. So I don’t want to do that. (Insurance & liability’s)

The problem I see it is you would have to know of several very large ops.
Then you would have to find reliable people with nothing better to do
Than wait around for you to get a job going.
Or if it was just you and the machine
You wouldnt be able to finish the final in a timely manner.

Then there is the whole quality issue.

I wish you luck but it sounds like a really hard startup

The quality issue is huge. Been looking at the twisters, I think 2 or 3 T6’s in tandem looks like a good setup.

Put buds in one end, Check them at the other end & onto drying racks, the tumber tubes are easy changed and one can have extras for no down time.
Only problem I see is the motors heating up
But I can fix that with adding water cooling

I know someone who would be happy to work a few hours a week. Not lookin to get rich, more so just brake even n stop spending days trimming.

Say you harvest 3ish pounds a crop.
Would you pay someone a few hundred to
Come trim it up n be gone in a couple hours.

I think, trust n security are the biggest issues with this.
I don’t think I’d use this service because I’m not a trusting person, even tho I’m legal n doing nothing wrong.

My problem is hand trim vs machine.
I can do that few lbs myself for free and it looks good.

Yeah. Machines definitely have a place. Its like anything else.

If you can afford to startup, pay help and work free while you establish yourself all while being reliable and quality driven. I don't see why eventually you wouldn't have at least a small clientele.

Ill butt out after repeating myself . Lol

I know several small growers and none of them enjoy trimming, however being a prideful bunch i know they wouldn't dump their weed in a machine.

I think if people were able to bring the weed to you it might be better.
I hate the thought of strangers at my home.

I’ve tried a couple different low end units and after a few min, I say nope.
I’m scared I’ll drop some really $$$ and it be the same thing.

I thought about having a place to bring it.
And that’s easy to make happen.
But I’m only allowed to travel with a limited amount, this would mean lots of trips or a risk. Not to mention the smell issue.
Fuck me does fresh cut stink.
Only takes about an oz of fresh cut to stink a vehicle out in seconds.

I am the triminator, I will trim bud for 25.00 per hour, 10 hour minimum to start. My friends call me Edward.
I'm afraid that those days are nearly over. My trimmers will get paid by the kilo, work hard and be rewarded. Trimmers are a dime a dozen, with a little learning curve anybody can be proficient in no time. Harvesting is an entry level position, no special skills or training needed, My best trimmers are retired ladies, they love that shit.

Itsme.

i see the industry eventually understanding that hand trimmed is better, dont bruise the fruit, i see that as a big factor in big grows, the trimming cuts the potency. Great idea but it dosent play out like people hope, just my experience sampling every bit of machine trimmed weed i have. Still have a open mind but the dought is getting thick. The masses seem to love a smooth round bud, no cocept the trichs are gone.

I rent a T6

me and the wife work 12 lights once a month. In 1 day, we trim 12 lights, hang on racks, dump the dirt, clean the rooms, rotate veg plants in, process a 20gal bubble hash run its about a 11-14hr day. We pay 500$ for the trimmer that day. Deposit is 5k. Best thing is...I DONT HAVE TO CLEAN IT!!!! :D

I do have a couple guys that trim for me so yes, I would hire trimmers. Also, I just picked up a Greenbroz trim machine and it does a great job. It's pretty freaking close to hand trim quality by itself. I could run the flowers through it and be done with it and I highly doubt anybody would complain about the trim job, but I have my guys do whatever little touch-up needs to be done and it's perfect. I'd say it's definitely worth the price. Keeping up with the machine is the hardest part.

yeah trimming is difficult labour, but I deal with it in a rather different way. I dedicate a room for that. I have a tv, pc and couch there with hanging line above me even a tub for washing, and an exhaust fan. I trim in my most comfortable setup watching my favourite shows and I take breaks whenever I want. I got huge food grade polyethylene bags that I use to freeze the drying time on an entire plant before I had trimmed it. I cannot dedicate entire days so I have to take many days and work a small part of every day. Those bags have made my life much easier, I use 2x2 and 2x4 bags. It will be very difficult for anyone with OCD because he will have to live with plants bags, leaves and such for a days but for me, it is a time to smoke a lot, watch a lot of shows and trim the plants without giving them much thought.

What your over all opinion of the T6?
You say you don’t clean it? It doesn’t gum up? Do you use multiple tubes?
Have you had any issues with the motor heating up the cutting tube? Or anything else? How much tricomes do you think your losing? Does the cuttings still make good bubble or is it beat to fuck?
Do u run it solo or with a helper?
Thanks in advance
