Too much heat, or other issue?

If it crinkles the new growth its too hot

If it burns the tips its even hotter.

If you watch for those 2 things youll be ok

You where right to feed slowly . I didnt see any burn and the even paleness says hungry or a high ph of like 7 :)

But now shes hungry imo
Here are the latest pics taken today. I keep pH right around 5.8. Some of the tips look to be a little 'burnt' or discolored. I moved the lights up a few inches. Is that from the light or something to do with nutrients?

What did you feed when you burnt them
Well...I decided to put 220ppm nutrients in right as the leaves opened. I realized that was quickly changed it out. I burnt one of the cotyledon leaves so one side is a little smaller than the other.

Desalination plants mix minerals back into the water at the end, otherwise it tastes strange. Some minerals in the water are okay, and even a tad bit of chlorine can be beneficial to killing unwanted microbs. Of course, you do end up killing beneficial microbes in the process, but you add them right back in when feeding.
Ya I can smell the chlorine in the water so I try to bubble it off over night.

Me too. But, most water treatment plants now use chloramine, which is much hardier than chlorine. Chloramine won't dissipate like chlorine. Easy way to test this is to see if you get a TDS drop, after 24 hours. You can also go online to your city water, and look it up there. Mine is still only using chlorine. My TDS drops from 130ppm to 70ppm.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check out their website and see what's in it.

Very clever! Thanks!
I used to bubble, but for a while I've been adding a product called Amquel at 2ml per 16L of water, because I didn't know whether I had chloramine and it claims to get rid of both chlorine and chloramine. I'd rather know and go back to bubbling if it's just chlorine :)

why aren't you using the drip ring? either start using it or top feed by hand.

and they look like it needs food like @JSB99 said. i see you added 220ppm. what mix/ratio are you using?

Even if you did raise your tds, if the ring isn't getting water to the roots sufficiently, it's not going to help. In hydroton, you have to pay close attention when they're small like that. I let my roots get nice and long in my cloner, so that when I put them in the netpots, the roots go all the way to the bottom and curl up, then I fill with hydroton, while holding the sprout level with the rim.

^ good call with the hydroton that stuff doesnt wick to well

I poke a little hole in my net and wiggle some roots through
so i know im in water
when i was using netpots, i would cut out the center of the bottom. the cross right in the center of it and then dangle the roots thru it and then gently fill up with hydroton or growstones.

Once I dropped the water level down a couple inches I started to use the drip ring more. Is it fine to leave it on 24/7 or should i only do it for a few hours a couple times a day? The 220ppm is what I added way too early. I actually started a little less than 1/4 strength and am up close to 1/2 right now. PPM is at 150 currently.

I will keep this in mind for my next grow. I cut the ring as small as i could get it without it popping back out. I'm definitely going to put them in a smaller system first and let the roots grow more.

OP can you get a pic of your roots?
Edit: that may be the root of the problem lol.
It definitely could be. There has been a little cluster of brownish roots (been there for at least a week now) and added hydroguard. Nice white roots have been growing out of the bottom since. Is that stained from nutrients or actually root rot issue? And if it is root rot, do you leave the roots or cut them? Here are pics from today. The drip ring was splashing some nutrient water on the leaves while they were drooping and left some spots.

you are fine now. you can stop the drip ring once the roots hit the res.

the roots look fine overall with a few brown ones. keep using the hydroguard for sure.

how much are they eating each day? if its 150ppm today, what do you think it will be tomorrow? if it drops a decent amount, i'd bump up your ppm to maybe 300 or 400 and slowly go up. they still look a bit hungry. are you using a the early veg mix now as far as nutes?

I was originally at around 130ppm and a day later was 120. That's when I added a bit more when I topped her off and brought it to 150. I checked it 16 hours later and still the same. I will keep an eye on it. No, still the seedling schedule. Early veg still shows equal parts micro/grow/bloom. Do you have a preferred feeding schedule for GH Trio series? It is about that time to do a res change anyway. I'm just not sure if i need to up the ppm or leave it the same.

it it's only dropping 10 a day, that's just about perfect. let your ppm meter tell you how they are eating and how much they need.

if it dropped from 150 to 80 in one day, then you need way more nutes.
if it went form 150 to 175 in one day, they need more water, not nutes

make sense?

Yes, thank you! That's kind of what I was thinking, but find it odd to feed such low amount. I guess if that's all she needs, it'll save me money :)

I think your issues were related to the roots and maybe over watering, but may be wrong, I do also agree that you should try upping your EC/PPM.

I tried to monitor my EC by adjusting for drop and the plants seemed to suffer a bit, not sure why. I now keep it at .3 to start then jump it up to 1.2-1.5 max and they seem happy. I guess watching the plants will tell you what's needed ;).

Overwatering was the culprit for sure. I had my water basically touching the net pot with roots in the water. When I fed her it got even worse. Once I lowered the water a bit and fed her she perked back up within a couple days. Now im just messing with the PPM's to see what she likes =)

Thanks for everyone's help!

you might want to try to add either a bigger airpump or another air stone. even if the water level is too high, if you have enough bubbles in the water, it "shouldn't" be a aproblem with the water level above the netpot.

something to try on this grow or for you next run.
