burn at so low PPM

I've been growing for a while now, every single grow I do I got burn until recently when I started watching my ppm more as I was just using 1/4 recommended dose before.

This time I started increasing my ppm week by week and I've noticed I am getting nute burn, weird velvet texture on the leaves they feel very unhealthy and yellow tips.

My ph is always bang on 5.8 and this started happening at 430 ppm this time. On the x5 scale.

My water is 180 ppm so I am getting nute burn on 250 ppm.

I've had this problem with 2 different strains although I am using clones of the same mother so I've only used 2 different phenotypes.

Have I just got unlucky with the phenos or is this low ppm normal? I see people saying they give 1000+ ppm and I just don't see how they can manage it

I do add silicate first how would that cause this issue anyway even if added last?

Also this is in hydro

Plants are definitely burned I can't get photo at the moment lights off.

Yellow tips and curled down leaves.
Burn at 430 ppm seems very very low.

Only thing I can think of is due to my room having low humidity at the moment may cause them to drink more and they need less PPM due to being provided constant running nutrients over their roots. But is this low ppm really normal?

Taking a pic during dark time wont hurt them. I do it all the time.

Are you sure your ph meter is accurate? It could be some sort of lockout..
Brand new calibrated ph pen as my reservoir is huge and recirculates it does take 2 hours for my nutes to mix completely and ph stabilise though.

I've calibrated 2 other ph pens with calibration solution and they definitely are right

Please describe your nutrient regimen!
I used to use advanced nutrients sensi a and b on its own. I had this same problem.

I switched to dyna gro foliage pro and protekt recently.

So I have used 1 ml protekt per gal and foliage pro I just use to the ppm desired in this case I got to 430ppm and I got nute burn.

I use ph down to get my ph down to 5.7-5.8 every time it goes up.

Based on all these questions I assume burn at 430 ppm is really unheard of?

You may need to look into ro. Perhaps you're getting chloramine in your water? You should have access to the test results if you're in the states.

I'm in the UK there's no chloramime in our water - so they say anyway.

Roots are crystal white

Would ppm not be lower if you have an aeroponic /nft system and low humidity?

I can't use RO as my resevoir is too big I'd be waiting days for the RO system to provide me enough

how many mL per gallon are you using of FP?
At the moment I'm not too sure as I've added it bit by bit until my ppm went up.

My ppm was going down (as if my plants were eating) at 380ppm - it went to 360 next day. I upped it to 480 and it started going up to 520 by next day

add some RO or distilled water to get your ppm back to maybe 280/300 and then work them back up to 380 slowly would be my recommendation.

I added water today and got ppm down to 460 I couldn't get lower without a complete dump.

But I'll do a complete dump tomororw if it's goes up again.
I posted here as I'm just baffled at how the plants stop eating at such a low ppm for me.

I am using the x500 scale? Maybe that is why? On the x700 scale I'm currently at 670 ppm and 5.9ph And 460 on the x500 scale
