Ok so I'm building a light. Wanna keep it under $500 bucks. I' debating on purchasing the 320watt qb kit. That runs 3 288 boards.

Or possibly build a qb kit using 4 288 boards turned side ways so they fit in the 4 foot tent.

Or

Build 6 to 8 cobs. Using citi cobs. 3000k 90cri.

Which do you think would provide better coverage and yield in a 2x4x6 tent?

If you can get something that would fit on a 240W driver you would save a LOT of money over a 320W, like half of the money on the driver if you take an ELG.
Come to think of it, you could possibly make 2 240W lights for roughly the same money if you use lots of low powered strips or COBs..

Look at the DELTA drivers on Digikey for a source of good 320W units. Cheaper than HLG (they are usually more expensive).

I just wanna build the best light possible. I'e read so much the last year. Between cobs, de, leds, cmh. I usually flower 6-8 plants at time. In a 2x4x6 tent. Right now I'm using a Mars 192 reflector. 440 watt wall draw. But has modded led boards in it, to give it more deep reds. Using factory heat sinks and drivers. And then beside that I have one on each side 300watt Bloomspects. They are a tad blue heavy. But they help tremendously with the start of the stretch. To keep stuff a tad shorter. So I am eating up the electric right now. Don' get me wrong I have some very dense frosty nugs come outta my tent. But I need light that' more efficient. And hopefully up yield a tad. I mainline and top alot. So I need something that has both great penetration and coverage.

I have 1/4 extruded alum sheeting. They would mount on that perfectly... And also help distribute heat. And dissipate heat. My veg tent has two 75 watt pcb panels in the center. And 4 cree 3050s 6500k cobs. Run at 76.6watts each. Esch had its oem driver. They were all free. And I have it mounted on the same alum. And it stays pretty cool. I have fan blowing across the back of the alum. Where I habe power supplies mounted.

Sounds like you've got the diy building side down pat :P. That 1/4" ALU sheeting will be the perfect base, could use double sided thermal tape and a couple fixings at each end of the strip as insurance if the tape fails. Drill + tap threads, self tappers or zip ties it really depends what you can be fucked doing! I used zip ties for my gen1 strips @700ma because it was easiest and all that was needed.

Damn it there was 80+ yesterday.. Some cunt

I'll search around for you though I'm on a broken screened phone so its painful. They have 3000k strips but the price isn't the same (arrows price setting is horrible) I once seen strips for $7 in 4000k and the same 3000k strips where $30! They fixed the price within 24hrs and I didn't pounce on them unfortunately :(

2x4x6 tent I would just stick 2 x quantum boards in that space to be honest and a couple of spare cobs at say 50-60watts each to balance out the area, doubt you would need more than 400watts at the wall in that space. I have 4xboards total 550+watts or there about in a 2.5x5ft and to be honest it needs dimmed down.
