To date, I know very few manufacturers who have understood that you have to distribute the LEDs on a larger area to get a homogeneous coverage. Squeezing this many LED's into a case "always" creates a center hotspot and you have to choose the distance accordingly, so you do not get bleaching problems. 1350 in the middle and 250 in the corners is actually pretty shitty and testifies that the manufacturer does not know what he is doing.
In the beginning one can see that he uses smaller diodes now. He would only have to distribute these diodes on 6-8 4ft. long heatsinks to optimize the coverage. Positive side effect, all would be passively cooled.
Well, maybe next year ...!?
