Yep 30/40c in summer. But still lucky to even stay at 20 during the night.
And doesnt get above 10 during the day in mid winter.
My climate is shithouse for weed.
I dont want to have to move states just to grow my damn weed. Thats unrealistic.
An oil heater and a 600hps suit me just fine

I’ve been GIVEN leds to run. No money spent. Some suck it’s true the new stuff is much better. Honestly there’s a place for all lights. But as you just said “hps WAS always the better system” lights have evolved as they will continue to do. All lights though have their place. But those older methods and systems will eventually dwindle and die. Plus those hps bulb are bad for the environment. Where do all your old bulbs go?

Watt for watt with current tech, LEDs outperform HIDs. That's just a fact.
I love my HIDs, but let's be realistic here.

Yet the biggest yeilds watt for watt have always come from hps and im on a site with pictures that has long proved it.
What part of this do you find sooo hard to believe...!

Led growers will never agree untill they are king of the yeild, this one fact hurts them so much they have to get so involved in the science and numbers just to try and beat all the pics here of hps growers with superior yeilds.
Its laughable at best....

Okay, I'll tell you about actual yields. I've mentioned this here before, but I'll share it with you.
About 3 yeard ago, I added a 4x8 tent to my space. I initially set it up with a pair of SE 600s with vented hoods. It was an awesome setup that would yield 2.5 units, give or take an ounce or two. About a year ago, I switched out the 2 600s with 900 watts of Cree and Citizen cobs. I was also able to eliminate the fan that was venting the hoods, meaning I reduced the usage of the tent by 400 watts. I'm now finishing up my 7th run with this setup, and I'm still pulling the same numbers that I was getting before.
Same results - 400 less watts.
Don't get me wrong, if I was building a commercial spot, I'd be leaning twards big DE lights or a combo of DE and CMH.
And like I mentioned in another post, I'm still rocking a 600 in one of my rooms. I'm nostalgic like that.

No, I totally get that. If I was somewhere cold, I would almost definitely go with HID.
During the winter, I vent my veg room into the house. It brings the ambient temps up a couple degrees.
I'm in SoCal.
