DWC: Day 30 of Flower PH dropping to 5.0 for NO reason

Can you post pics of the plants and roots with white lights?

I don't even really have a smart phone. Its a pain in the ass to post pics.. 1 of the plants didn't crash to 5.0 tonight, it was at 5.6 when I took the reading.

I'm an expert DWC grower and I've never really seen this before. I have 2 clones into different buckets and different tents and about 1 week ago the ph would drop to 5.0. I tried lowering the ppm from 1050 to 850 and the ph is still doing this. These are clones of clones and the previous batch didn't do this. The only thing I can think I did was remove to many leaves for light penetration, but I highly doubt this is the cause. Please help.

PPM was around 1000-1050... I thought I would try dropping it to 825 range to see if it help stabilize the ph and it didn't

I had similar symptoms when i drop rh for harvest

It gets the buds crystally but kinda just stalls out lol then ec rises .

Im like fuck that since half the room is still booming so i bumped the rh back up to 40s

Yeah I think the water level is dropping a little more than usual, so I gets the plants are drinking more.

NO I don't think the ppm was dropping, I added more water to lower in on purpose trying different things.

Do you adjust your pH last after adding nutes etc? Do you use a pH down when you make up your res? What is your starting pH and how fast does it drop to ph of 5.0?

Yeah I use ph down after nutes.. Starting ph is around 6.0 and I'm guessing it takes anywhere from 4-6 hours to drop to 5.0

Not sure if you know, but I have 2 clones doing this from the same mother. They are in different rez's in different tents. No other plants in different tents are doing this.

I've never known plant type or strain to affect pH like that if thats what you are insinuating? Are the 2 clones from the same momma that are in a different tent the only plants in that tent?

If you're a dwc expert why the trouble? Especially every 30 plants it happens?


If your start ph is 6.0 then drops over night to 5.

Try phing your mix at 6.4 then see what she does.

Im still suspect of roots, humidity, and high ec.

My max is usually 1000ppms mabey little more or little less depending on the strain

I am going through this late in flower too now. Before the PH was stable or slightly rose but now it is dropping about 0.20 every 12 hours. I'll start at 5.9 and end up 5.7, I'm using more tap water to my RO and it helps keep it more stable.

I thought i had issues when i switched my nutrient line

Turns out the ph range is just opposite.

As in normally i would set ph to 5.8 and let it rise to 6.3

Now i start at 6.3 and let it fall to 5.8 works awsome as i dont even need ph down much anymore.

Cause if you add enough ph down to make it 5.8 right off the bat it will PLUMMET to 5 by the next day.

Yup take it slow on the PH change and let the roots do the work, less PH up or Down the better. Plus my water is extra hard with spring run off right now at 260ppm. takes a shit ton of PH Down to move it even a little lol.

Yup 1 plant each tent.. 5 hours ago I raised the ph to 6.2 now its back at 5.0
