All I use is Espoma garden tone, and happy frog bulb food. It already is pre blended and is loaded with innoculants and 100% organic
Many people use a mixture of different manures. Some are hotter then others when composted. Horse manure usually has more weeds sprout up so you will have to mulch it well.dayum, i am subscribing to this thread.
when i can grow outside, cow patties, espoma garden tone, and happy frog bulb food it is !!!!!
i will walk the cattle fields around me soon and collect more shit than i will know what to do with, lol...
how would i store it for 2 years? compost pile?
what about aged horse shit...? i have access to a bunch of that too.
Ok but wouldn't a mostly manure only mix burn the hell out of a young clone or seedling that is established, just wondering?? Seems like the huge amount of natural nitrogen in cow poo would be way to much for a younger plant??Many people use a mixture of different manures. Some are hotter then others when composted. Composted cow manure is .5/.5/.5Ok but wouldn't a mostly manure only mix burn the hell out of a young clone or seedling that is established, just wondering?? Seems like the huge amount of natural nitrogen in cow poo would be way to much for a younger plant??
Ok gotcha. Still IDK. Guess the only way to be completely convinced is to try it myself, right? Well I'm going to try it on a 20 gallon scale, in ground. I got a extra plant so why the hell not. I'm in no way saying your wrong, especially after seeing the pics of your 200 gal cow poo plants! Just gotta see it for my own eyes and hands to believe it. All have a great night!!Composted cow manure is .5/.5/.5
It is not hot at all...very low in npk
Right on...just amend it as you would normally. And I want to see pictures...lol you will never go back to regular soil!Ok gotcha. Still IDK. P.s. make sure it's from a farm and not a bag
Will Doo, ha. I have time, unpopulated space, and extra clones. I'm gonna make this a side summer project along side my VIP's that I grow for my meds. Pictures will be and included with updates. I'm unsure about this mini project, but for some reason I believe and have faith in ya what your saying ganjagurl420!!Right on...just amend it as you would normally. You are sort of an idiot for going into business with an idiot, grok? Blame yourself and make your own decisions is my sincere advice.A buddy acquired some land this last year up in Shasta County and we have been prepping and planning on growing there this summer. Its time we fill our smart pots and get these babies in the ground this weekend. Hes an old timer from Fiji who has been around MaryJane for a few years. He insists on growing in straight up cow manure, no soil or natural dirt mixed in. I told him hes crazy and that the clones will fry up in a matter of weeks, which then makes this whole grow a waste of my time and money. But hes so hardheaded he doesnt want to believe it and his reasoning is "Ive been doin it this way for years"... (No way hes ever done it, hes being a cheap f*cker).
Im posting this to get all the feedback possible to this dumb idea so i can show him this and if he decides to proceed in this route then i can walk away knowing its not my problem anymore. Hey, if it does work, let me know so i can shut up and continue working.
Release the wrath of grow knowledge.
P.S. the natural dirt of our property is the red clayish type dirt you see down in Redding... (not grow approved i assume)
Also the manure he wants to use is those basic white/yellow steer manure bags you can find at Lowes.
Thanks for your guys help.
There might be something to this. You are sort of an idiot for going into business with an idiot, grok? Blame yourself and make your own decisions is my sincere advice.
I have gone into business with an idiot or two, I am not trying to judge you, just dropping some reality. Cut your losses with him now and move along or you will suffer, I can almost guarantee it.
To be clear, I am not saying anything about the manure, I am talking about the psychopathology we usually think of as having a stubborn unteachable attitude. I don’t put up with that shit in my personal or professional life, and ever since I made that policy for myself I am a happier person. Anyone that stuck in their ways has forgotten how to learn. Fuck all that noise.
Haha yea gurlMy turn to chime in ....lol
So it is the most amazing thing to grow in EVER. The hay that is naturally in it makes for the most amazing drainage. Many growers use straight manure to grow in. They are the ones who get 5+ pounds a plant (given that there is lots of root room)
now mind you I live in northern Wisconsin and can pull these off so in cali you could do even betterView attachment 4133891View attachment 4133892View attachment 4133893
Debate over about ^ I think. My turn to chime in ....lol
