How many places in the us have enacted a single gun restriction and stopped there? That's your slippery slope... look at ca and Chicago if u need specific examples.

So I’m a tad confused, although L30 has supposedly left the building, ya your still here lol, the need to bear arms is mostly for self defence, right? But yet you have stated that the chances of getting shot is pretty much zero unless in a ghetto, mostly of color I presume (different discussion lol). This to me is kind of an oxymoron statement. I, as stated, am proud of my hunting heritage and own many “hunting” guns. These do not include handguns or assault weapons, which are not available to general public here (yes they still contribute, but at a very low percentage). I do think the issue of gun violence in your country goes way beyond reasonable gun control and good luck fixing that one, first step would be to elect something other than an asshole lol.

They still have what.. 250 gun related deaths every year.. Down from the 350 they had before gun control? a 25% decrease. If we had a 25% decrease in gun related deaths we would still have around 8000 deaths from guns (not including suicide) Yep seems to work real well.

Also the United States is nowhere near the top for gun homicides per 100,000 people. Your media likes to portray that fact that we are the worst of the worst. There are far more countries that outrank the United States in that category. By orders of magnitude higher.

Look at Africa for example, They have rebels running around torturing villages and recruiting young children after they make them kill their parents and have been for decades.. Look at the turmoil the Middle East has been in, Isreal and Palestine and has been for decades.. The Chinese have genocided many generations of people throughout the years. Funny you bring up the holocaust. The numbers are skewed and is highly exaggerated and has been proven time and time again by many people.

There hasn't been 22 school shootings. Your number takes in the people who have committed suicide on campus, accidental weapon discharges ect. There have been 4-5 school shootings where there was an actual shooter going around shooting people

Actually a 25% decrease is amazing. 2000 less deaths a year would also be quite amazing. What’s your point? It’s only 2000 so why bother?

Your at position 31 out of 194 as of 2016. Take look at the ones that are higher and then compare them to you. I would hope the US would/could do better. Comparing the likes of Afghanistan, and Nicaragua and say magnitudes ahead really isn’t saying much IMO. I’m not saying that gun banning is the answer though, you guys have gone way beyond gun control as a remedy. Honestly I think your fucked and it is what is. Raising the age of ownership is not going to help. We have a mentoring program here that allows 12 year olds to hunt using the mentors gun. I think that is a great thing to teach kids. We have a weeks worth of mandatory training before a written and practical exam starting at 15. Then we are allowed to hunt. We are allowed to buy a gun at 18. Handguns are only allowed if a member of a club and must be locked down and ammo stored separately until at the club. Assault rifles are restricted weapons. For me to buy a unregistered handgun would set me back about $500 for a piece of shit, not many kids can access them. How much is one in the States?
