i put these plants into 12/12 when they were between 4-10".... we still gonna destroy net pots !!!!! these plants are loving their new home...

i'll buy more 2" net pots all day long to never touch hydroton again, lol...

1st Texas Butter which exceeds 12" tall in less than 1 week in flower has shown balls. i'm not disappointed cuz i will collect pollen from him. he will have to move out of the rdwc system and into my breeding tent in a regular dwc setup.

will replace him with a sour diesel that is ready to flower.

i got all the new bulkheads i need to build another 4 tub system.

tomorrow i will pick up more totes and some PVC, PVC fittings and more rubber couplers.

should be able to get it built and installed much quicker than the first system. have a little better knowledge know.

anyway, gotta harvest a sour wreck and sour diesel first. both on day 67. the diesel is looking like it could go 75 days. think the sour wreck will be ready by sunday.

Question with bulkheads. Do you guys think threaded or slip is easier to work with? I figure threads obviously so you can detatch it but in my head,I wouldn't use a male adapter for the inside threads. I'd want to use a Slip X Slip bulkhead and glue a FEMALE ADAPTER to the connecting pipe to just screw on to the same threads that the NUT goes on to tighten it onto the bucket. That way you don't shrink your pipe diameter whatsoever and it'd be easy as shit to disassemble and clean.
But then there's the option of using the Slip X slip fitting and just wrapping wide width Teflon around the end of your pipe a few times to snug fit it into the bulkhead. Because once it's glued in there like the slip fittings are intended for, it's never coming off.
Thoughts? Personal experience? Pics???

Absolutely. That's why I stuck with 1" fittings and hose. And smaller pumps. And return lines in parallel rather than in series. I'm pretty sure I saved a lot of money this way, too.

You'll notice I didn't say you were doing anything wrong, only what worked for me.

Finally got my RDWC put together!

20Gal Rubbermaid Brute (x4) + 40Gal Rubbermaid Brute (x1 - Res).
4" PVC connecting each Brute
4" Reduced to 1" Pipe > 1" Pipe into Pump. > 1/2" Pipe from top of pump into top of Res.

Used a hole saw and did pretty smooth holes in the Brutes. Uses a razor blade and smoothed the burred/rough edges (making sure not to remove too much plastic and only the extra specs pointing out).
Used a "goo" based spray as lube and grinded down the edges of the pvc to help insert.

There are no bends or turns in the system. All the containers are in a straight line.
The floor is flat. All the containers are on the same level.

Water Check 1: Filled a few inches above the top of the unseals. Everything is perfect!

Water Check 2: Filled to where I would keep the water-line (just below net pot). Two of my Unseals are leaking! Did some adjusting... now..
..one is a very minor leak , like a drip... it drops to the floor, then another drop leaks out after a second.
..the other uniseal is leaking at a fair bit faster pace, drop-drop-drop-drop.. but not quite a river thankfully. There was still a fair bit of water pooling on the floor..

I feel like the Brute bows very slightly when full, compared to when empty and this might be causing a problem?

At this point, I'm hoping I can find some kind of outdoor water sealant/silicon that I can apply to the uniseals. If not I'm out a fair bit of $ and need new/better containers and maybe bulkheads instead of uniseals? :cry:

When I first put some uniseals in some 5 gal buckets I relied on what I read on here on what size drill hole to drill. Drilled holes in 10 buckets some leaked some did not. Problem was the hole size was too big. They said in the tutorial to use a 7/8" bit when actually it was a 3/4" bit.
Bought new buckets and redrilled after testing first of course this time and not a single one leaked after proper size hole drilled out.
