stretching question

I've grown some autos, but it's never occurred to me till now to wonder, will they stretch if you put them in a 12/12 environment for a week or so? i have a couple just starting to flower, and would like them to get a little more growth on them before they commit to it hardcore.
or would the loss of 6 hours of light a day for that week to ten days outweigh any benefit?

Probably will have the reverse effect. I've tried to make some reg auto's flower using 12/12 for sexing and they just don't care. On the other hand i've had to lower hours of light before to trigger some. Almost every auto ive grown has surprised me with it's stretch though so don't be surprised when they get bigger than you expect. My current auto's were 3-6 inches tall when they started shooting pistils, now they're 4 foot tall.
