Can HLG 600-H V2 run at 240 or 277 volts? Is it worth it?

My home dawg is working with the electrician on some improvements. The electrician is saying 240 volts uses less power than 120 volts which I doubt is true.

I know my digital ballasts can switch between 120 to 240 on the fly.

Do the HLG's Meanwells do that? Should I just stick with 120 volts aka "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?" Thanks.

Yes, the MeanWells can run at 240 VAC. They detect the input voltage and adjust automatically. They are more efficient at 240 VAC by about 2-3%. It doesn't sound like much, but it reduces the heating of the driver considerably. At 91% efficiency, a 300 watt driver has to dissipate 27 watts of wasted heat - but at 94% it only has to dissipate 18 watts.
