No you just stick the wire in the hole and it locks in place, if you want to remove the wire you have to push down on the little tab that's over the wire.

Are you pushing in hard enough? From what I reading there are like the samsung strips and 18ga is about the biggest they will take.

And are you using solid core or stranded, stranded your gonna have to twist the end really tight or it's just gonna fray out when you go to push in.

Stranded but I have solid core I'll go try that and I'm pushing as hard as it will go before it bends

No it's still a push in, i realized why i couldn't get it in, i'm using silicone wrapped wire i was able to get in a random cable to stick lol

just need to go get some more wire tomorrow, thank you buddy

Yes, you have solder pads on one end of the strips.

There are solder pads on them.

With the push-in terminals, make sure your wire is stripped back far enough, and make sure the insulation is not too thick - it should fit into the hole. Strip it back about 3/4 of the length of the terminal. Press it in until you feel a little resistance - don't stop - keep pressing until it won't go further. It should be locked in place.

ah yeah thank you buddy, the wire i bought has a silicone wrapper and just folds in before i can put enough pressure, i'll get some in a little while and finish her up

Finished! got a little busy so it took longer than i wouldve liked but it's all together. 46x44 frame 20 strips roughly spaced 3cm apart, looks silly as hell over a single plant lol
