Drooping as the day progresses. Need some opinions please.

Hello, I'm currently 33 days into my first grow and my plant seems to be drooping more and more as the day progresses. I started noticing this the day after I installed my inline fan and filter. The fan and filter allows me to keep the tent fully zipped with an enviornment of 77-83 degrees and 50-60% RH (the temp drops and humidity rises once the lights go out tho). I have one of the side window/vents open and an intake fan (its not running but the other fan has enough power to draw plenty of air into the tent. I lose negative air pressure as soon as I turn this on) installed. So far this is what i've gathered...

1. Over-watering / Under-watering

2. It's completely normal because the plant can sense its night hours approaching (I find this hard to believe tho).

3. Not enough drain holes in my pot...I'm leaning more towards this one since I made the pot myself with only four nickle sized drain holes. The only reason I doubt this is because the plant never showed these types of symptoms in the past. Only within these past couple days have I noticed this.. Maybe the roots just weren't developed enough to reach the bottom yet?

Grow Area : 2x2x4 Tent

Lighting : HLG 100 3k , 15" above canopy.

Medium : 70/30 FF Ocean Forest / Perlite

Pot : I think this container is around 3 gallons. Its an old whey protein tub.

Watering Schedule: I don't really have a schedule. I just water according to how dry the medium is / how light the pot feels. I also feed with tap water, PH comes to 6.3 and PPM is at 240 once chlorine is evaporated.

Exhaust : 6" Vivosun Fan and Filter

Intake : 6" Vivosun Duct Booster (lol yea I think I bought the wrong fan, this thing is powerful)


I have a 5 gallon fabric pot but I have a few concerns about transplanting. For starters, I've never done this before so i'm afraid i'm going to damage the plant. My medium has too much Perlite mixed in so I'm pretty sure everything will fall apart once I tip it upside down. Also, what if the improper drainage has cause mold or rot? What should I do? And what should I do if its root bound? I'm ready to kick her into flower but I would like to iron out every issue before I do so.

Looks pretty healthy to me to be honest. Leaves are uniform color. No shriveling or dying that I can see. Better to under water than over water in my opinion. Strengthens the roots and forces them to seek out moisture. You have a wider margin of error with soil or soil mix than with a hydro setup. Don't take my word as law, I don't run soil but id imagine the basis of plant growth remains the same.

Just finished transplanting and the roots were clinging to the pot like crazy. I think I’m a murderer.

She seems to be doing well despite the harsh transplant & defoliation. Gonna kick her into flower after the next feed. 1-2 weeks left. Any recommendations? I haven’t really fed her yet. I currently have :

Remo : Grow, Micro, Bloom

AN : Big Bud

House Garden : Roots Excelurator, Amino Treatment

Botanicare : CalMag Plus

Could I just do a quarter dose of each and PH at 6.0-6.5?

If they tend to drop closer to the light cycle shutting off and they spring back up when lights come on I wouldn't worry. Everything I've grown does this. They know when it's getting close to time to sleep then they spring back to life.

I could see this happening outdoors during sunrise/sunset..but, I don’t understand why it would do this when the environment and lighting remains constant in a grow tent. I feel like theres usually a change in the plants environment which causes it to react accordingly no?

Anything can change your environment
Hell my wife decided it was too cool in my house and raised the thermostat to 72F and my grow room went to 84F without me knowing why
I prefer below 81f as a rule

My plants regularly "let down" about 1.5 hours before the lights go off. It's not an unhealthy looking droop though.
My first thought would be a slight overwatered?

This is normal do not worry. And there are mutations and strange leaves that grow on alot of plants just simply genetics. Dont lose sleep over any of it

I begin to droop when the temp gets over 75... 82??? I def need to be in the a/c

This is normal, even the clones in my cloner start to droop the closer they get to lights out.

If at 24/0 with a decent DLI and/or high temps, its normal for plants to shut down for certain periods of the day very similar to mid-day depression.

If at 18/6 with decent DLI then its normal for dropping to hit as the night approaches.

Just curious but what does DLI and fwiw mean? Sorry, I still feel so new to all of this haha.

Fwiw - For what it's worth.

DLI = daily light integral. Basically how much total light a cannabis plant gets every 24 hours.

The EC instead of PPM of your base water would be more helpful. Your water is bordering on hard. If it's from a company request the latest analysis of it. You're feeding cal mag plus so you should see what's in the base water. Excess calcium can cause nutrient lockout.

I'm in a rental unit where all the utilities are included with the rent. Is there a way to find out which company supplies my neighborhood? I may just buy a 5 gallon of Primo RO water from Wal-Mart. Also, what're your thoughts on watering with carbonated water / sparkling water? Not for every feeding but maybe every other?

Just chiming in quick from the first post. You mentioned all of your factors and they seemed okay. The only thing I could think of was osmotic imbalance. If you had excess chemical salts in the root zone, you may draw out moisture from the plant.

In a healthy plant, when moisture evaporates from the leaves the draw of fluid causes suction that aids the plant in uptake of water from the roots, and the osmotic balance with salt can be like the opposite. Salts will hold onto water and won’t let the plant suck it up.

Clawing can result when the plant senses over abundance of nutrients. Clawing is the leaves curling down like eagle talons! If the roots have too high a PPM.

Carbonated water isn’t worth your money, in my opinion, don’t bother.

My opinion, flush the rootzone with pH’d room temp water.

P.S. Three blades leaves can be a genetic marker of OG genetics. I have them in my Skywalker OGs

This is some good info, thanks man. And yea, the carbonated water thing seemed a little odd but I thought i'd ask because I saw it on youtube haha. Just curious but what should my run-off ppm be at day 35? I checked it about a week ago and it was at 740. I have since transplanted into a larger fabric pot so I don't know if this will effect my reading after the next watering? I have noticed that a lot of leafs are starting to get a little lighter in color but they're still green!
