Mold Smell, Please God, not mold.

Hey folks!

So its nearly 3 weeks away, approximately, from harvest for the Kosher Kush. They're looking fairly good, but I am disappointed in my yield, but thats a story for another thread.

Right now, the pressing matter is that I think I smell a moldy smell coming off the colas....I wont lie, I am freaking out a bit, but I have them on reduced watering right now, and they are in direct sun as always. Anyone know how to detect mold?

Thanks for any advice.

Here are a few images of the girls, notice the last one is a bit different that the other two. She's the same variation, but a different pheno, I believe. The nugs are skinny, longer, and more individually dense, but they are FINALLY starting to bulk up, now that theres only a month left so, yeah lol.

When the tomatoes come in itll be fantastic but im worried for now.

ABOVE: Decent density, but not what I expected. Thats my fault, I should have done what I know is best instead of implementing the help of others so readily. Im a good grower, and this does not reflect that.

ABOVE: The leafy material is a bit much, however, this strain did produce some good calyx formation and there is above average resin production. The Trichomes on this plant are still clear and obviously a few wks out, but there is great crystal production on the sugar leaves and on the cola itself.

ABOVE: This girl is one of my favs simply because she is starting to finally bulk up a bit and shes giving me some good pics! Lol bitch.

20180915_120409.jpg Aaaaaaaaannnnnnnddd if course theres the problem child. Shes obviously a ginger at heart because ever since I GERMINATED her shes acted like a fool with her pants on the ground. These colas are skinny, lanky, and airy. The individual nuggets themselves, which are being held by pretty hefty stems, are indeed dense AF, crystal production is tremendous there as well, but she has struggled to really produce. Might get less than a quarter lb of tomatoes off of her.

Only advice I can give is vigilance. Just have to do frequent inspections to 'nip it in the bud' if mold or rot shows up. Seems to just be part of outdoor grows for me.

I’ve never noticed, I’ll keep that in mind from now on.
It's helpful during harvest, you can just flip a branch upside down and scan for it, but the effect doesn't stretch for much more than an inch from the leaf base at most.
You'll know it when you see it, it's not a normal coloration, but you do have to really look.
Typically, there's no saving that segment, but if you see it during cure, you can remove the tainted nug from the batch. If you let it dry in open air, it won't taste moldy (the shit we do sometimes, right?).
It can't be added back to the batch, of course.
