so i have two plants in dwc i am attempting a micro grow and was wondering a few things.

does bucket or rez size matter apart from having to re fill often. would it stunt growth if roots get too crowded or make the plant look over watered.

both my plants are from seed both same strain although unstable.
one is perky yet has a smaller root mass and the other is bugger yet is starting to look droopy but roots are bigger making me think there crowded although both have allot of room.

both plants had a rez change 4 days ago i change every two weeks same mix both have air stones both working both have same ph give or take a few.
i keep ph around 6.1 tap water with around 450ppm no cal mag just A+b canna grow
both are growing both are 1 month old and a week from germination and got topped 4 days ago.

i haven't seen any ph change just ppm dropping although not by much room temps say in range never hot
my only guess is maybe light too close its 10 inches (only 130w marz )

i dont get it why one is perky yet other looks like its over watered

i want to try keep rez size small i guess my main question is does that matter

I'm pretty sure u need to keep the water at a certain temp 16 to 19 degrees I think I'm interested in to see what happens with this

What do the roots look like. It’s hard to “overwater” in dwc unless you don’t have enough air. The water needs to be around 62-70 unless you have a lot of air. For my rdwc I rarely ever change out my nutes maybe three times an entire grow. however my system is much much larger.

maybe water temp could be high i didn't consider that normally its 17 ish but thats in a 20l rez ill check that i normally don't

roots look good some stains from chemicals but no rot no bad smells
its probably rez temp getting hot it could be not enough air too

Based on what I've experienced, you're going to need a bigger rez. As the plant grows, the root mass will also grow so now there's no room in the bucket for anything but roots.

im still not 100% sure this the reason for the droopy plant but after moving my plants i to my flowering tent with in 4 hours it perked right back up so guessing the lights too close and that's making the rez too hot whats lame since i imagined doing a micro grow would be easy

yes!! they are plastic though haha
normally id use a 10 liter bucket but i was interested in trying dwc in a micro grow space 2ft height by 1.5x1.5ft so a small rez would be the way i would of thought but i will be changing that to one bigger rez but putting both plants in the one container in hope that will help keep temps down

if you mean hydrogen peroxide that stuff is junk and only works for like 2 days
ive read there is a few products that can be put in your rez to allow you to run hotter temps
id rather fix the problem over adding extra cost to my grows and complicating things with a lot of additives

Odd, but ingenious; kudos to you for making the most of what you have!
