Need some basic help with nutritions.

Hi. So many question buzzing thrugh my head atm. Kinda confused by all the products out there, and half of them doesn't even list what it contains. So I guess the only thing left to do is write it out and hope someone can give me some pointers and advice.

Here is a list over what I got in my "shed":
Soil, compost and perlite. I have unsulphured backstrap molasses and a organic liquid fertilizer. It says is a 3, 0.4, 4.2 npk ratio (with 45% organic substance?), and a biobizz Bloom (2,7,4). I think maybe one can be good for veg and the other for flower.

My soil is basically a type of high quality potting soil that my local gardener sells. It got a small part peat, sand, dolomite and organic chicken compost mixed in. The compost is cow-compost (Im thinking that i shouldnt mix this in before I do the last repotting and flip) Currently from what I read around the world wide web I was going to mix soil with 20% compost and 20% perlite.

One of my main concerns is long time flowering, and the soil running out of the other nutrients apart from the NPK. I read that backstrap molasses have some minerals, but to what end this will be abosrbed by the plants I is a question. At some point I will get the book "Teaming with microbes", but now I'm broke, so that will have to wait. :) Any critisism are welcome too.

Take what you have and make the most of it. Otherwise it sounds like you've thought this through. My only thought would be perhaps you need to up your perlite percentage, if the 20% doesn't lighten up your soil / compost enough. The only other thought...drop a seed and get after it. Good luck friend.

You are right, it is something that have occupied my mind for quite some time. I started germinatin bout 3 weeks ago. And have 4 plants growing atm. One turned out to be a bit special. Someone called it a diploid, plant equivalent to conjoined twins. Im very exited to see how that one turns out.

Brother, remember this when your head starts getting too full of nutrient nonsense - keep it simple. Simple simple simple. KISS. Keep it simple always.
I hear you! I will never forgive my self if I cant bring this beauty to full maturity. She got this beatiful dark purple shine on her leaves, and turns out to have a whorled phyllotaxy mutation going.

Never use compost, it's not pH buffered and increases weak growth and nutrient lockout...And the compost will greatly increase your chances of male plants... Compost is hard to flush out causing more cancer and bad taste and smell..

Organic/synthetic blend is best.. organic work best with benefitial bacteria and carbs (molasses). They form natural bacteria creating unique smells, tastes and colors... The down side of organics is they can cause root problem if your plants become unhealthy.. Also I found they are harder to flush out.. The organic base you have with the black strap molasses will work great.. Reasearch bio bizz and see if it's a two part, and you have the BOTH parts.. Add a cheap bloom booster like crystal burst ($12) and you are set my friend... Let me know if you have any other questions? Hope this helps!!

If there from seed.. Follow these instructions to have a better female outcome..
1. Do Not feed.
2. Use 6500k light.. Do not expose it to natural outdoor summer or fall sunlight.
3. Keep it on 24 light cycle
4. Do not spray pesticides
5. Don't take a clone to early.. allow a transplant before you take clone..

Hi, I should be good for the veg by what you guys say. What do you mean by ph buffered? I heard the term before, but cant remember what it means. Im not familiar with the term two part nutrient either.

(They are from seed. On a 18/6 cyckle. And under a migro 100. )

Looking further into the bio Bloom "Bio·Bloom incorporates a range of trace elements and hormones as well as containing a carefully selected mix of enzymes and amino acids." But i cant find anywhere any numbers and list of other nutrients than the npk. Looking further into it i watched a interview with a guy calling himself mr. Bloom. He was in south africa on behalf of Biobizz, promoting their products. According to him bio bloom containes a minor part molasess, a major part kelp, some amino acids and some natural plant hormones.

Look to a good single part nutrient they work just fine start to finish. Bloom boosters of any sort are a waste. Jacks, megacrop, veg+bloom are all really good nutrients. I prefer megacrop but that’s me.
