Please help my ph problem

So i watered today, i phed the water to 6.4. the runoff on the bigger (looks healthier) plant came to 7.0, the runoff on the plant that is looking more messed up came to 7.3. so youre telling me the soil/root ph isnt the issue? what should i do? i watered with tap water and a teaspoon of cal mag. my tap water is 151 ppm on my meter

this is the bigger plant it isnt as bad which coincedentally the runoff on this one was only 7, not 7.3

has anyone experienced anything like this, and if so what did you do to resolve the problem. if you already got your grow dialed in and have never had twisted, leathery 3d looking leaves, good for you, i have a problem here and am looking for advice on what to do, thanks

is this a logical theory- i keep putting small amounts of organic ph up into my water or nutes and little by little its incresing the ph of my soil. so i am kinda understanding the dont ph my water, because its typically arpund 6 BEFORE i put in the ph up. basically all my ph up is getting built up in the soil right? if thats the case what do i do to fix it? or am i completely off?

stop feeding it. run 6.5 water through it you don't have to flush it but run double the volume that you normally feed. don't check the runoff, throw it away and the next few waterings feed it only plain 6.5 pH water and observe new growth. you don't need to feed foxfarm soil that soon for a plant that small and stop the Cal Mag too. and stop checking the runoff just make sure you have 6.5 going in for best results

How weak is a tap water calcium buffer, measure the amount of acid needed to reach 4.2 its ionization point and go on a learn science site then do loads of complicated maths and get back with an answer of WEAK.

Ya know zero about buffers, water could be five ppm and read 9.0 but theres very little in it to even ph. Why even fuck with waters buffer in soil, soil is a freaking buffer, the lime, the bacteria.

Like im even here to provide you lot answers, thats newbie and problem forum, this is general not free school.

I am reasonable but im here to be part not make or break growers, i do give good advice, the same that grows whats in my pics

Exactly. This isn't hydro here. Any decent potting soil won't need to be ph'd . His humidity is 30 percent no wonder the leaves look dry.

so this is what ive been doing and trying to keep track.

couple issues, i had fungus knats, during one of the plain waterings i did in the course of three days i used MICROBELIFT, i half a drop for a gallon of water.

i also followed the directions of CANNA and didnt adjust ph while using their products. that was the last watering today day 40 from seed.

1 gallon water
8ml bioveg
4ml rhizo
4ml cannazyme
i used small amount of calmag+ in each watering instead of the normal amount since i was planning on flooding the soil over a few days.

Todays runoff was lower in each plant. the new growth is looking better. i lst and topped, hopefully they’ll be better in the morning tomorrow.

on the small one above, the new growth is slightly clawing, but ITS NOT TWISTED AND CURLED, i can handle the extra nitrogen with the correct soil ph i am hoping

this bigger plant is turning into a little beast
defoliated a few nodes and actually wanted to know what will happen with it, i am thinking it would turn into 12 colas correct? the main stem is running horizontally to the edge of the pot.

these are pictures of the bigger ones lst roots, i dont have that much vertical room so trying to create a very low canopy somehow, going to have to make a decision on it soon.

Also, i took the 75 watt rapid led 5000k cob out of the tent, that extra light was definitely stressing the plant leafs, im running the hlg 260 at maybe a 1/8 to 1/4 had to tell from the lowest setting, so maybe a 100 watts and the plants seem to be taking it easy from all the stress they have been through but looks like they’ll make it.

Also, being this is my first grow with the quantum boards,and first grow ever, i didnt realize that its not accurate to look at the plants inside the tent to know what they look like, the leafs always look yellow to me, but outside the tent they look great, but the leaf curling looks the same in either place.
i was wondering about the third branch in the lower photo

Your pkant needed fertilizing and still does, your seeing the results of the fertilizer.

Wise up, drop the calmag ph seaweed crap all noobs gravitate to and simply fertilize till shes healthy.

Now complete ten grows quit bitchin for us to do the hard work

i saw that you added dolomite lime to your soil mix which is a buffer to bring up pH. FFOF has oystershell lime in it. That is also buffer to raise pH. FFHF has oystershell lime and dolomite lime. all this lime brings the pH up in your soil. now i dont make my own soils so i don't know how much lime is too much, but my guess is you can overdo it. if fox farm (company that makes soils) puts a certain amount of lime in their soil, why do you feel like you need to add more?

what are you using to check exact pH to two decimal points? that worries me. soil growers should need the color changing drops at most. if its one of those cheap pH pens from amazon just throw it in the garbage right now.
I know it may seem like i'm piling on or trying to give you a hard time but i'm really not. the reason people grow in soil and use pH buffers is so they do not have to worry about checking pH. if your soil has pH buffers, you just water it with nutes. when you water, soil naturally becomes acidic and then the buffers bring it back up. then, checking runoff you see is completely pointless. as long as your solution is anywhere close to the correct pH your soil should take care of the rest. only time pH would become a problem is if you keep a plant in the same soil for extended periods, overwater and deplete the pH buffer.

i hope this clears up what people are trying to say here

as an aside, i am a soil grower too. and i used to be very concerned with pH. a lot of these same guys in this thread convinced me that the buffers in my soil were sufficient. i tried their advice, and they were right. now i'm not saying you should completely ignore pH of your tap water. sure, add a touch of pH down if you want to lock the solution in the ballpark, but its probably unnecessary. And at least stop checking the runoff.
