hi everyone my first grow ever I bought a upgraded Mylar tent 4x4 x7 ft sweet tent very happy with it . I got a 4” exhaust fan with carbon filter temp and humidity unit . I started 2 white widow 2 lambs breath or bread and one trans Siberian all auto flower feminized . All 5 seeds germinated and all are out now . I have one 600w philzon led wich I think is really 400w so they say and a bestva 1000w duel chip 10 w bulbs very bright. . I’ve both lights on 18 off 6 . Now I wasn’t sure on light height or placement so over 2 I got the 600 and other two the 1000 but looks like they are all getting from both as light are close together. 600w is 18” above top of plant on veg setting and 1000 w is 30 “ above there is no veg setting on this light. I noticed some stretching under 1000 w so I lowered to about 20” seems ok so far . I’ve not added nutrients and prob won’t till week 3 . Soil is roots hydrponic soil looks really good for grow . The trans Siberian is two days behind as seeds came late or after I started plus it’s in a smaller pot . I hope I’m doing this right just going off what I’ve read . Not sure how to post pics on here . It’s day 6 now and so far they look really nice getting third set of leaves now .

That’s a day three pic I’ll post another of day six today when I get home . All grows I’ve watched on you tube with these light all seemed to do very good I’m hoping mine will . What is wrong with purple light . This has some purple to it but lights are white red purple blue orange quit a variety of colour on the 1000w bestva

I do have a 400w hid but was afraid to use as very hot . I thought would be a real challenge keeping heat down to right temp as is now it’s perfect temp 26 c humidity is 40

400 watts of hid will put out the same heat as a 400 watt led light.
The idea of using a led is that you can use less power for the same results. For example I use a 1000 watt light but built a 700 watt led to replace it now I'm using 300 less watts which is less heat then 1000 watts and I'm still getting the same results or better plus less stress on my breakers.

Awesome ok thank you I’ve only watered twice second water soil was dry on top and first knuckle down in soil deep was dry so I watered again on outside edges of pot and a bit in closer to plant .

I was always told a good way to know when to water is water it and pick up the pot feel how heavy it is then let it dry out a good bit and feel how light the pot is.

Nice thanks for watering tips I’ll start to do that now I was scared I didn’t want them to dry out and die lol I’m only away from them for 8 hours but I’m sure lots can happen in that time . So bit paranoid when I see dry ha ha now I won’t be.

They will be ok even if they start to droop from them being thirsty give them some water and they will park back up in a few hours. Just don't make it a habit lol good luck and happy growing

Any advice on led light height would be nice I’m going by what plant looks like each day I’m only concerned I don’t want to fry them and if light is to close how long before would you notice it frying your plants I don’t want to experiment and do it wrong . To much info on led hieght and type of led if anyone has experience with led hieght would appreciate it thanks.

So day 6 3 set leaves starting I’m thinking it’s looking pretty good. Lowered both lights a couple inches only as they look ok where it’s at I’ll see in morning and adjust if nessasary .

Just be cautious that the seedlings barely need any water at all. They can go a week without any water added as they don't have enough roots to soak up much. Not sure on the size of pot but no need to water the entire pot for a seedling. Just water around the seedling with small amounts of water. You can keep your light at 24" for now as the seedlings do not need much at this stage. When they start packing on leaves than you can lower it a bit to increase light intensity. Happy growing.

Right on ok thanks I was wondering about that part of watering I thought you should water outside of the plant to make roots work harder to get water I guess when that young go to the source.what stage or time do the roots start getting bigger.
