Any tricks for covering floors?

Got brand new floors i would like to protect from light bleaching... and from water spills...
Also, dont want to staple or nail into them either (poly is stapled to the baseboards though.

So my though was to tape poly down as little as possible, but also need to protect against sliding from foot traffic without pulling the tape up and all that.

Any ideas?

Actually, might be a good idea... it would spread out the weight of the res/tables going in there...

You can get various 3mm rubber flooring intended for garage or gym use. Interlocking slabs, rolls, all sorts of non slip or soft stuff.

Keep an eye out for condensation forming around your windows and dripping behind your baseboards and ruining the floor.

That could work.
Just a bit thicker than i would like.

I use pond liner. works great. its 40mm thick i think. 12x25 feet was about $200 (cdn) cheap insurance i thought

You are going to damage the floors sooner rather than later.
Work out how much they will cost to replace, and save up for it.

Ya i figure... just want to minimize it though... a few bucks up front just might prevent a larger disaster...lol

lOl maybe you can hang the pots from the roof, and a tray hanging under them.
The moment something sits on the floor it wicks in any liquid going around, which then sits under it and grows fungi.

in the dojo...but that's not where we bought them, i'm sure we paid about 1/3 of that price, look around a little.
if they stand up to 20 people jumping around on them for 2 hours at a time, 3 times a week, they ought to last forever under your plants...and they'll keep the roots a lot warmer than a tarp over the floor would

Depending on how long you use the room, if you plan on using $60 worth of flooring and an afternoon of labor a few years from now, it will save you years of spilled anxiety.

I'd roll the carpet up and put it in storage.
