As the title says, I will be building a grow building/ grow room. I am thinking about having 2 rooms. 1 Veg and 1 Flower. I am thinking about 10x10 for veg and 10x10 for flower room. Leaving a little bit of room to walk around and manage the plants.
I am thinking about doing a Sea Of Green (SOG) type of grow.
I am thinking about starting out with soil. (can you do sog with hydroponics?)
I would like to get at least 1oz per plant.
Thinking about doing 100 plants in 1sqr foot. If my math is correct, That would be 100 plants in each room.
My Next question is who is educated with lighting enough to recommend how many lights i should have in each room. I was thinking about going 1000w MH/HPS lights. I was thinking maybe 3 lights in each room? I will have a wall in between the rooms. I also have a Lux reader to help me get the right distance to the plants.
I will be installing maybe an AC in each room to help with temps.
I would like to add CO2 as well.
inline fan size?
I'm not worried about smell at all.

Can anybody give me some insight on how i should go about getting this project started?
Lights?
CO2?
Fans?
Is there anything i missed? If so, let me know and ill answer.

Your math is wrong .... might want to double check that,
you don’t need equal veg to flower space.

I’d get a mini split with 3 zones, one for veg 2 for flower ,

What’s your budget?

Why don’t you need the equal amount veg to flower?
Well... I figure I will be spending anywhere from 5k-10k on equipment

10x10 for each room would be 100 square feet.
Wouldn’t 1 plant per square foot equal that?
Yes but you wrote 100 plants per square foot.
Your veg plants are not as big as a full flowering plant. Also if you want sog , there isn’t much vegging involved. Mom plant , cloned , then a week or two of veg n flip.
Some flip freshly rooted clones with no veg .

I def wrote that wrong lol my bad. I meant 100 plants. 1 per sqr foot.
What if I let them grow up vs spreading out the plant?
I planned on doing about 3 weeks on veg once cloned and whatnot.
If I put 100 plants for veg, you seriously think it would take twice the amount of room for that?
If I did 2 flower rooms, I would only be able to do like 50 plants and then flip to flower and spread them out in the 2 flower rooms. Btw, I’m not saying your wrong or anytbing. I’m just trying to get some more clarification. With investing money like this, trying o see what would be the best way of doing it

Also, if I wanted to harvest every 2-3 months, with a 10x10 grow area, with 2-4 1000wmh/hps in each room, how many pounds do you think is doable at the rate of 2-3 month harvest?

If I had 25x25 building n 10k max budget
I would for get about CO2 , and running sealed . A good mini split will eat most of your budget.
I would divide the space into 4 equal spaces. 3 flowering , 1 veg moms . Each flowering room would have 4 tables, either 4x4 or 5x5 with a de1000 over each one.
And big intake and exhaust fans to deal with the heat from the DEs .
I would have moms n clones n work area together . After the clone rooted , I would put on a flood table, n veg in the for a couple weeks then flip. After 30-40 days , full the next room, n repeat.

With this type of set up, how much dry weight to do you think would be achievable? Low approx and high approx.
Also, how many lights per room do you think I would need?

The better you grow the more you get.
But with little veg time , anywhere from zero to 2p a table. A lot comes down to strain, then how well you can control the environment, and not cutting to early .
But experience will play a big part.
What’s your grow resume look like?
That’s a bit of work for 1 experienced guy
And would be a nightmare for a noob imo.

In flower I put 4 lights over 4 tables in each room. Couple 1000w mh for veg,

Id still build towards sealed and CO2 and add AC, CO2 after a run or two. Then the venting system is a backup cooling system for if AC quits. Thats how my rooms are built. I hook the cold air intake blowers to my autopilot cooling output. I set the daytime to a temp just above where the AC should keep iot, it it gets too hot the blowers kick on. I also have high temp cuttoff on my side lighting so I drop some heat load if temps get too high. It rarely happens, usually only if an AC needs recharge and its 100 degrees outside. I also set the night temp to about 20 degrees cooler than daytime so when the lights cutoff the blower kicks on pushing fresh air in and ethelyene gas buildup isnt an issue.

I’m fairly new to growing, but I have people who will be helping me with this, so it won’t just be me. The labor part that is lol.
I feel like I need to take a risk and try to make something happen. It just became legal in my state and I figure why not getting involved with something that I love. Know what I mean? I figure with yalls help that I can get a good start. Know what I mean? I appreciate everybody’s help on here as well.
When you say 4 lights over 4 tables, that’s 1 light per table?

How often does a A/C get recharged?
Depends, honestly they shouldnt lose charge. My units are cheapo ones by Midea and I usually pull down the charge (weighing it) every 12 months and I have a loss of about 20-25% of my charge. I attribute it to the crappy flare fittings the units have, much prefer to braze the line sets but these units dont allow for that. So I just make a point of pulling down the units and weighing in a full charge every spring to make sure they are ready to rock in the heat of summer.

With minisplits, make sure to spec a unit that auto restarts after a power outage and runs low ambient (when its cold outside).

One more question if you don't mind (sorry op). Whats the cost on that peat mix you are using that you mentioned in that other thread. Im using sunshine 4 @ 32 bucks for 3.8 cubic feet. Was just wondering on the cost.

Ya , 1 light over one table, a de1000 will cover a 4x4 or 5x5 area . Should be able to get each light for $300ish x 14 = $4200
(2 for veg/ 12 for flower)

Avoid Nanolux DE ballasts. I started with those and they kept failing. After many warranty exchanges I started replacing with Phantom and SunSystem ballasts and they have yet to have a single failure.

A 25'x25' foot print is not conducive to making optimal usage of your area with 2 10'x10' rooms. Add 2' to each side and you're left with half the space unused. How often would you like to harvest? Having a large flower space enables you to stage plants so you can put new plants into the 12/12 photoperiod and harvest on a staggered schedule.

Can you share any more details on this area you're intending to grow in? Is the 8' height from floor to ceiling?
