Do you heat the whole room, is that your room temp or canopy temp. I really concerned about raising the humidity past 50% as the room is just a standard room with sheetrock walls and carpet...just a spare room. I afraid the carpet and walls might start molding and I'm allergic to that shit.I run 84°F (30°c) 65% Humidity during light cycle on. And normal temps at lights off is 72-75° ish.

Sorry guys...working in IT it's verbosity and more verbosity. I guess it's a occupational hazard. Her too.
I tried hempy with just perlite, dwc and soil ..same results. Which is why I narrowed it down to light. Are you in soil or coco or peat or?
You could have simply over fed them in each, right?I tried hempy with just perlite, dwc and soil ..same results. Which is why I narrowed it down to light.
I'm so far from vertical someone is gonna have to cosine for meGin & Tonic and I'm smoking my double distilled cartridge of SSH @cannabineer that is epic shit! I'm barely upright
Trust you to go for the tangentI'm so far from vertical someone is gonna have to cosine for me
I mean how...I start them off the same way I always have which is generally 1/4 of the strength of the nute which is what the bottle says then increase as they grow. You could have simply over fed them in each, right?
What I'm saying is you would see light burn at the top not the bottom
I always go for the Sunday conicsTrust you to go for the tangent
What the nutrient bottle says doesn't matter it is what that plant shows you and your plant is nutrient burned because if it was your lights it would burn the tops not the bottom.I mean how...I start them off the same way I always have which is generally 1/4 of the strength of the nute which is what the bottle says then increase as they grow.
I know what you're saying...and I thought that to and I tried a little less and a little more and the results were the same. The only time things improve is under the hps light. Maybe they are getting burned because they can't breath or transpire correctly with the environmentals and the nute builds up whereas under the hps with the IR and heat ...even with the same low humidity....they start improving rapidly. What the nutrient bottle says doesn't matter it is what that plant shows you and your plant is nutrient burned because if it was your lights it would burn the tops not the bottom.
I live in the Mojave Desert. My plants never get over 20% RH. Mine only look like that when I overfed or under pHed them.I know what you're saying...and I thought that to and I tried a little less and a little more and the results were the same. What is your room temp generally at with those low humidity numbers and if you run in a cab what's the temp in it with the room temp the way it is. I was hoping a low room temp would be ok if the cab temp with some of the led heat was about 70-75F. What leds do you run and can you give me some examples of wattage used and the distance the leds are from the tops. Is there a recommended distance vs how many watts of led? I ask because another user on another forum was saying it looks like light burn. And I thought this to but shit my hps is pretty close to. I wish I had a meter to show me the output between the two. I'd rather figure this out because I'd like to use the led in the summer or otherwise I can't grow any medicine and this shit has helped me so much with a chronic illness but I'm limited right now to only in the winter since hps is too hot in the summer and I'm not going to run a ac all day.I live in the Mojave Desert. If HPS works for you just switch to it. Whatever works is good.
Take a look at that reference you posted to me. Light burn is at the top not the bottom. Anyway I grow under HID's. I'm just looking at LEDs but it doesn't matter what creates the thermal injury it will exhibit the same symptoms. But if you can't easily add a heater to your space then swap to your HPS until it warms up then go back to your LED. Then you'll know for sure if you keep up the same nutrient regimen. What is your room temp generally at with those low humidity numbers and if you run in a cab what's the temp in it with the room temp the way it is. Yes...I have the personality I like to know why things work. I think I have OCD like that such as my too long of a post. lol I'm thinking of doing that exactly ...just using a dam hps in the winter and led in the summer if it works out to that as heating the room and all that is counterproductive to what I wanted. I'm still wanting to know though so I'll probably heat the room and up the humidity to about 30% to 35% and see what happens. I'm also thinking of building another light and adding some deep red and IR leds if they make them.I live in the Mojave Desert. My plants never get over 20% RH. Mine only look like that when I overfed or under pHed them.

I'm with you and understand wanting to know why it works that way. You could try adding heat. You might not have enough heat for your light, as LEDs are more efficient (ie less heat as a byproduct). So try simply adding heat.
You know there are some growers that use HID in winter for the heat and LED in summer.
