Anyone on here saying their yeild went way down with LED was either growing with shitty lights, didn't have enough actual wattage, or made mistakes during the grow. I grew with HPS for well over 20 years and my yeilds have gone up noticeably since i switched to my HLG quantum boards. Took about a month to figure out that i needed to run my rooms a little warmer than i did with HPS, but its been nothing but easy mode ever since.

How is your quality though? Show us a bunch of pics of all this huge yields you are taking about.

I'm glad I'm out west. It was sunny and in the fifties today in Portland. Here's a picture of Mt Hood while I was crossing the Columbia River from Portland Oregon into Vancouver Washington on the I-205 bridge today. The picture isn't very good since I had to take it quick while I took my hands off the wheel and leaned over into the passenger seat doing 70 mph.

Just joking about taking my hands off the wheel. I was in the passenger seat. My lady was driving. Although it probably wasn't any safer the way she drives. Don't tell her I said that. I'm always bracing for impact when she drives.

Again I'll say it if you want great results comparable to HID you need deep pockets and I mean over a grand per light,
You can match HID but you must buy top quality lights or be able build a top spec light, the tech is there, I dont understand the pettiness and agression here, isn't the whole point for us to grow good buds and cheer each others successes on? not to sit in one camp or the other totally blinded by our own personal opinions? If you like the older tried and true bulbs great, if you like the new tech that's great too, but to take sides like children and taunt one another and saying stupid shit to try to make a point is not stoner at all, unfortunately now that weed is mainstream we get mainstream assholes too like the rest of society. It was a simple debate that's degenerated into my sides better than yours and your side sucks, fucking grow up! This could actually be a really fun discussion if it wasnt for a few of you in here.

I have an entire thread documenting my first grow with QBs. There are pictures. Also, i don't get huge yeilds because I grow for myself in 2x3 or 3x3. Unless you consider 8.5 ounces dried (the yeild of my most recent harvest) under 200 watts of quantum boards huge yeild... that was done with minimal training. 2 plants, topped twice and vegged for 25 days in fully amended living soil. I ran a 400 watt hps in 3x3 for over a decade and my 200 watts of QBs yeild me, on average, 15% to 20% less dried pot than my 400 did, with half the power. Its also a lot easier to keep my tent at the temps i want. I have strains that I've grown under both, the quality is indistinguishable. Potency is the same and terpenes seems to be hit or miss. I have stains that i think taste a little better under hps and some that i think taste better under led. I still use my HPS during the winter. May have to retire it when i get my cmh.

I like to run a 315 CMH, Phillips GM 3100K... I also get a kick out of running around 900 total W of Bridgelux EB panels that I built.....What really gives me a chub, is the 270w Samsung F series VEG light I put together...Then there's the 150w Bridgelux Vero 18 COB VEG lamp in the starter tent.....Oh and the 80w Screw in LED "bulb" rack, with the diffusers popped off, lurking over the cloners....Then, tomorrow, I'm gonna fuckin spark up, a fuckin 600w HPS just because there's pots to put under it....

I don't see how posting pictures of good grows under LED's proves anything. For every good LED grow there are grows grown under HID's. The only difference is that LED's put off less heat and cost much more. They don't grow better weed. If you're not concerned about heat or electricity it makes no sense to spend $800 on lights when you can get the same results for under $200.

Some of us are just concerned with growing good bud. Others want to play around with technology. Nothing wrong with that but don't claim others are living in the stone age. This argument reminds me of the same argument about nutrients. There were those claiming that a dozen bottles of the latest and greatest nutes with fancy labels were needed to grow good weed and if you didn't spend your life savings on some overpriced bloom accelerators you couldn't grow good weed. That argument has been proven false just like it's been proven false that you need the latest LED technology to grow good weed.

I'm convinced that many posters are just schills for the LED industry just like all the schills for the nutrient industry. Posting charts and youtube videos from manufacturers proves nothing.

If you want to spend $800 on a light then go ahead. But don't tell me it will grow better weed than HID's. They both grow good weed. Time to move on from this pathetic Chevy vs Ford argument.
