there are many variations and variables, like if your bud feels too wet after a day or 2 in the jar 5 minutes open will not do, a couple hours outside in a bowl will prevent mould and bring the bud back to the right level, which is the whole point to preserve the buds, worst thing that you can ever find is white furry looking buds in your jar that smell like ammonia, trust me on that one. I think a little common sense and intuition play a big role in a good cure a lot of folks tend to overcomplicate anything to do with growing when it should be a very very simple process. I pop em open daily to check the moisture and if it feels a little damp I'll keep em open checking every 5 to 20 minutes until they feel right then seal them up again, I hear people complain about boveda but the truth is storage was a lot harder and a cure at home was not even discussed hardly before boveda.
this was a game changer for everyone because it made a cure simple and achievable for everyone. there a good sticky on curing and storage.
Not sure why your going by feel for, buy some cheap Hygrometers and put them in your jars. Saves the guesswork and is just sooo easy. Being indoor and perpetual im always jarring up and often have different plants at different stages in jars.
Most people don't use Boveda packs to stabilize RH (that should be done in the drying process IMO) they use them to maintain a RH in storage, same as cigar's and herbs etc. It only has a plus or minus of a max 5 RH.
Once a Boveda goes into a stabile RH environment then the only thing needed to keep the cure active is fresh O2 so the bacteria that eats the chlorophyll doesn't die. Once its dead the curing stops as it does if the product is over dried.
But lots use them in different ways.
I recon aging is a term that should be used more as well. Curing takes a few weeks, maybe a month but the real flavour comes from the aging process i think. I had some two year old stuff last year from an old gorilla grow and it was outstanding. Sure the THC probably degraded some but did not notice the loss also the terpine profile was intense, smooth as silk as well. Not advocating anyone store some product for that long of cause but even 3 months makes a diffference. Must of what i smoke is aged 3 to 12 months.
