Holes appearing on plant

Every morning my plant seems to go through a pest attack but every day i never see any bugs after inspecting the plant, It seems to be occuriing at night time.

Any idea of what kind of bug it is and what i can do to prevent it?

It is really starting to affect other leaves so in time i feel like they will all be affected with holes, would this kill the plant or will it still grow fine under the circumstances?

Pictures of the plant below, It is a white widow autoflower20190623_180120.jpg 20190623_180048.jpg 20190623_180035.jpg 20190623_180012.jpg

See any grasshoppers in the area? Not necessarily on the plant but around the area.

Not really as iv been letting it grow on my deck for maximum sun everyday, But i do live in the country so id imagine they would be near by in the area.

With holes on the leaves to the extent of damage as to what you see on these pictures would the plant still grow fine?

Oh yeah. It’ll be okay. Unless it’s a bad year for grasshoppers.

You can rule out any insects that like to suck, it's not aphids or thrip's or white flys. It's a cutter, likely small caterpillars, or other leaf cutting/eating instects in your area, it's not slugs since there is no slime trail. Go out at dusk and in the evening with a flashlight to find the culprit. Depending on what it is, there are options. Since it's an insect that is nocturnal, it likely doesnt live on the plant, it just comes out at night to feed on it. So spraying it with chemicals or insecticidal soap could repel them, but you would have to leave the chemical on the plant, which would likely burn it. Diatomaceous earth around the base of the plant can help prevent crawling insects from eating your plant. If the insects are flying insects, try a neem oil solution on the plant leaves to discourage them from eating it.

Either way, that is very light insect damage and your plant will recover just fine, unless they really step up on eating it.

Have you tried spraying a mixture of canola oil, and water? I’m not sure about the exact mixture, but I’ve used this when I had a couple of pillars at an indoor grow. You spray, then shake the plant. Their feet won’t stick to the oil, and they’ll fly off. You can also use Mighty Wash, or SM-90, I know it’ll work too.
