I don't know. I just found out that the person at DG that put their whole feeding schedule together is the sales and advertising person. This person does know a lot about growing, but has only been growing for about a year or so.
Don't get me wrong, I think their stuff is great stuff. I was recommended to change my pH from 5.8-6.2 to 6.8 in coco. I went round on the phone with them. I ended by saying 'ok, I'll change it to 6.8 and see what happens'. I didn't change a thing except fresh nutes at the new ph. That was yesterday, it should be interesting. It is the make or break moment for me and DG.
I have always said Jack's is next for me after DG.

Some I have defoled have refoled with a vengence. I am playing with it a little and might be seeing increases in transpiration and bud size when done quite late.

Big lower fans usually are long gone in my LST garden by harvest.

Hans panel V1 had no white leds in 2011/2012 ......450, 620, 660nm, it was my first led grow coming from a long hid hiatus. It's on this site somewhere ; ) he added 2-4 cree 4000k xpg/xbd? On V2

was not many other prebuilt options using decent parts for a small closet grower? Apache, Plant photonics came a little later, crazy prices, hand built. A51 hypetrain after, DIY guys really paved the way in consumer education and future wants from the led growers.



Hans did "well" due to its system efficiency (remote driver, quality mcpcb, some top bin) for that time & segment = subjectively speaking vs china mono panel dump(ufos everywhere) on the led world. You weren't flowering trees, training/scrog/sog was a almost a must....

Lots of watt boosting crappy diodes that were originally meant for traffic signals and other nondemanding shit. Stuck some active fans blowing on untested/thin PCB's and called it a day, premature failure rates were extremely high ( for an electronic product) back then.

Who grows 2oz plants? Aside from SOG that is..
 
I mean, in a very small space 2 zips a plant might be very respectable. But even in my 2x3x6 I've never had a plant yeild less than 4 dry with the exception of a 12/12 from seed experiment i did.

Not even about all that. My point is plants with 100's or ManyMulti-Sited plants need to have leaves removed. Or else whats the point? Undeveloped buds are far from desirable & appealing. The fans literally sit ontop of these sites like a roof. Idk about what u see but fir me id lose 50% of potential BagMeat.
Happened to me last grow on a monster cola Plant (HeavyDutyFruity x SweetTooth) under the E-450 if youd like to see an example.

Ever consider just removing a finger or 2 from the fans blocking the budsites? Legit question, can't say I've actually seen that done before.. People are always either remove it or don't, or even clip the tips, but I've never seen anyone mention removing a whole section from a fan. Would that be too much damage and not worth the repair time it may take??
Edit: sorry I know this isn't the thread to go off on a tangent but it's already posted and I think some people may benefit from the idea, myself included if someone shows me this is a bad idea.

I could see it with really highly trained canopies and really dense scrogging. Only time i really needed to do a lot of scissor work on a plant was an overgrown scrog that got away from me. Lol.

When i had more time to grow i used to cut the fans or blocking leaves in half back when 12 oz plants were my goal. Similiar to when you clip the leaves in half to go in the cloner. This allows for around 42% more light to get in then before & ive read about it triggering a stress effect in flower (so does De-Fo) (plant thinks its being munched on by predator) that causes the plant to respond by increasing its thc as that is its main defense mechanism.
For a smaller grow or someone who has the time, i recommend trying it. I feel it reduces photosynthetic compromise.

That's exactly what im referencing because that is everyone of my plants.
Smaller grows & plants allow for much more organization & less need for that stuff, so it all depends on where you're sitting in the equation. But at the end of everyday, completely shaded sites r most usually Shite!
