Is it just me or are THC levels going DOWN?!

I know in the early days of lab testing in Oregon for example, growers were taking tips of bud from the main colas and sending those in for lab testing inorder to fluff results. Maybe you're just seeing the market evolve in your area
There’s been outright fraud regarding testing facilities regarding bribes to fudge the results. A couple of labs forced to close.

Well I was trying to point out that I think there has been a bit of deception among many branches of the system used to sell marijuana to people. First, it was the THC levels when the sellers thought it was all about that. But, as time went on, THC was realized to be just one of the things that made good weed good. So, with that new knowledge, the main focus on THC numbers is/are back down. In WA state, we can't smell the weed before we buy it because it's all prepackaged in sealed containers. It's been hit-or-miss as to what you'll get once the package is opened. I predict that there will soon be terpene numbers included on all labels and that those numbers will likely be the next ones to be exaggerated. They can print anything they want to on a label and there is really no organization like the FDA that will come in, independently and make sure the people are getting what they are told they are getting.

And when I started seeing the 33%^ a few months back, I was wondering how far that THC numbers-game was going to go before it became just flat-out impossible to believe.
Terpene profiles are becoming just as important to many educated buyers as THC and CBD are. More breeders are starting to pop for the terpene analysis here as buyers become more educated as to the relation between THC, terpenes and the effects.

I know people who grow plain and simply who still grow weed where the buds look pretty decent and thick but the quality is that of da 80s or something lol.
I think a lot of shit you get isn't fully mature, and therefore not as potent but looks beautiful. They're in it for the quick cash. I can tell a huge difference when I let mine fully mature.

Bro please tell me, what is your main indicator for determining "fully mature"?
There is no ONE indicator. You have to watch for a series of signs the plant gives you.

First Stigma(pistils) shrinking, then bracts(calyx) swelling, Finally trichomes shifting to cloudy/amber.

Cannabis is a pretty consistant plant most Of the time, and most plants will follow this pattern. It usually takes between 2-4weeks from when the stigma shrink to full ripeness. These last few weeks include the buds internally swelling which accounts for significant bud density and weight in the final yield.

"We'll below 10%"

"4%-5%"

Here, just click on one of these links in this search, give it look over if you know how to read..
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=marinuana+thc+%+1980s&atb=v172-7__&t=cros&ia=web

Then maybe all your friends that you say are agreeing with your dumbass can finally get the real info..
I only clicked on the first two links but they are talking about the American market not Cannabis as a whole. it would make sense that THC % have been slowly rising due to the fact of were the cannabis, in the main came from. Australia and Europeans didn't get Mexican Brick so our experiences would be different.
id suggest that Cannabis as a plant hasn't increased to much. look at Cup winners, most are not insanely high THC %, but availability of decent cannabis in the American market place has.
I grew up smoking what was most readily available. Thai stuff in the main not Mexican brick. Breeding what had decent THC with what flowered faster is of cause what Neville did.

I have had more than one Mexican sativa knock me down. Not out. I mean stoned ass and the creeper strains were something else. This crap about weak weed. Yeah there was a lot of bunk shit in the 60’s but growing up right on the Mexican border we also got REAL sativas from Michoacán, Guadalajara, Acapulco, Panama and Colombian. Not the northern Chihuahua desert gully weed we sold to people who came from the north looking for pot. I’ve had actual psychedelic experiences on cannabis. So much for the 3%-5% “back in the day”.

Then Vietnam and Thai stick and the Cambodian and Laotian indicas. Oh hell yes. More of the old time 3%-5% shit eh. I guess us old goats just smoked rope waiting for a new generation to come along and finally deliver.
