Negative pressure

So I’m switching over to flower now and I usually left the bottom flaps open cause my ten was sucking in a shit ton. I bought a 4” booster fan from ipower on amazon for about 20 bucks. Didn’t make a difference at all. My tent is still sucking in . I can’t leave the flaps open due to light leaks at the 12 hr night time. Did I buy this for no reason or how do I properly use it??

Thanks guys!

Most learn to deal with it, and you want that negative pressure it's a good thing. It's not ideal that it sucks your tent in. Try a fan that can match it for the intake.

So basically this booster fan worthless lol. I have to get another fan like I have attached to the carbon carbon filter?
If you can figure out how to open one of those flaps and keep it dark in there, that would be the cheapest option. You could try a 6-8" ducting collar/sleeve and run some hose off that with a bend to keep it dark. Basically a similar amount of air needs to be pulled in as there is going out to keep the suction down. I recommend panty hose or some kind of high flow filter on your intake, so you don't suck crap in.

I posted pic. The one on y’all is where the carbon filter is connected to the fan and then ducting coming out. If I connected that one and the bottom one w the booster fan would that work? Cause supposedly that air coming out is supposed to be clean air no?

Do you mean that it would be taking the air from the tent and circulating it in the tent? The problem with that is you wouldn't be pulling in fresh air or co2. I would expect a decline overall plant health if you do.

And you have that ducting down low as a passive intake while it's still sucking your tent in? It's ok if it's sucked in a little. The negative pressure is a good thing. It's really not a big deal until it's smashing your plants and possibly creating a mold issue.

Yeah I wanted to reuse the air going through the filter. I mean I barely had flaps open during veg so idk how much air was going in but it didn’t suck in the tent now it does suck in a shit ton to the point the fans don’t oscillate. And I have it as a passive intake but it’s not working as good as I thought. I only bought it yesterday

Is there another port to add another hose for more passive? Make sure you get a bend in the hose to prevent light leaks.

I have 2 ports that I can use. I can get more ducting for the bends for no light to get in. But still tryna resolve the negative pressure issue. I wanna try to connect the one extracting to the air intake but I don’t wanna be wrong and my tent not get co2 like u said

If you add another passive intake, it should have a dramatic effect on the tent not sucking in. Give it a go and come back and let us know.

Well I bought those booster for 20 bucks thinking it would work. I’m just gonna but the 25 dollar Vivosun air intake 195 cfm and some ducting so I don’t have to worry about it anymore. I think this will resolve the problem no?

Try that and if it doesn't work good enough, you can still have a passive intake to go with it. That should definitly help.

I find having strong negative pressure gives you crazy trichome production tbh the stronger the better as long as your tents still standing and no light leak then you want it strong as imo

That’s good to know. I put the booster by the back so I have no light leaks. I’m using it just for an intake. It’s still sucking in but not as much since I have the port open but it has the 4” booster in it. Might have to get another one but I’ve wasted way to much on the whole set up. @macsnax

Once you get a couple grows down, you will start to realize that you're making that money back over and over. At least that's how I justify it, lol. If it's not sucking in to bad now, I would let it be and see how things go.
