That term is used very loosely today to define anyone that defies dictatorships or abuse's of power, like Antifa are being accused of being a terrorist organization now.
So, if your being killed by a government and you pick up arms to defend yourself, and that government declares you a terrorist, therefore you are a terrorist?
This country was founded on terrorism then, just ask the indigenous population.
I have no sympathy for mass murder attacks on civilians, and an offshoot of the IRA did do that in Omagh in 1998, but the real IRA never targeted civilians.
My point is that it all depends on what side of the fence you are standing.
Is Hamas a terrorist organization? Why?
Is Hezbollah a terrorist group ?Why?
Is Iran an terrorist state? Why?
Is Saudi Arabia a terrorist state? Why not?
Is Israel a terrorist state? (ask someone in Gaza)

Yes, I am equating terrorists with Zealots. Which is probably not entirely correct. Terrorists may have reasons other than a fanatical uncompromising belief to justify a terrorist acts. Good question about whether or not a country can be a terrorist state. What does that mean to you? I don't know what that means and I don't know how useful that is.

Zealots are the people who have caused the most damage recently through their terrorist acts.
