Why you bringing New England into this?

We need that blackout feature so I can say Go Noles without embarrassment.

Dang it. I have quali on my dvr, q3 still unwatched. Now I can save the time of watching.

Charles has been quick the last few races.
yes sir, i think over .4 seconds back to lewis in p2, not really the best race on the calendar though.. hope he makes it four out of four..

oh, and albon backed it into the wall in q1, so he'll be starting from the back of the grid.. not heavy damage, but enough..

Yea, I saw that. But over all he has done a good job for Red Bull.

I watched the rest of quali this morning. Lewis had a heck of a lap to snag 2nd. I haven't watched on the grid or the GP. Lots of weekends it's Monday morning when I finish watching the race. If I would get off line and finish my work work, then I could stream it with Dish on Demand here at work.

I stopped watching F1 when the drivers no longer had to keep their cars on the track.
There is a big push on that now. All four tires over the white line in quali and that time is disallowed. Also using bigger curbs so you risk damage to the car if you go over them.

But that has led to a real scary airborne crash in the F3 race a couple three weekends ago.

F1 is now a sport driven by spoiled brat pussies for corporations that couldn't care less about the actual sport, it's fans or those that participate in it.

F1 died the day they got rid of gravel traps and the V10.

The top few drivers in the world are compensated as such. Money will spoil anyone. But the best drivers are driven to be the fastest. The money and such is just part of the ride. Big companies have never cared about anyone but their officers and stockholders. They are in sport because they think it will help their bottom line. I enjoy watching, so I'm glad they are writing the checks. Doesn't mean I'm going to buy Johnny Walker or wear a Rolex.

I agree that paved runoff areas make the drivers take chances they couldn't with gravel. But the cutting edge tech of today produces more power with much less weight and fuel use. The hybrid engine is not one that is likely to make it into road cars, but the teams are making breakthroughs that will stretch the boundaries of what is possible.

That'sanother part of the problem: the tech. It's beyond ridiculous.

When the car can literally drive itself around the track faster than the driver can, you've gone too far.

It's a large part of the reason F1 viewership is down just over 50% since 2004.

NASCAR has run into the same problem. That's why it's viewership is tanking and all the big sponsors are gone.
