By the sounds of it most people are just running it to another tub/res then either pumpin it out for use in gardens or just directly running it into a drainCan someone explain where exactly the waste runs to in run to waste systems? Or does it just collect in a tray which needs emptying etc
Yea im a lazy bastard so the easier the setup the betterIt’s up to the individual grower but personally I just find it more work and effort than it’s worth.
The actual tables, stands, pots, pumps etc...not that much. The $’s went into the room, lights and the controls, and it’s only a small room for personal and family, why buy shitty weed that someone’s just pumping out to sell, and that you don’t know what’s been used on it or how it was grown, when you can gyo. It adds up fast and that’s a sum I haven’t and don’t want to do. I reckon I’ve racked up a few points with my fam though, and we look after each other. How much is a set up like this mate?
Awesome reply straight to the point and outlines how basic the setup needs to be although someone settin it up for the first time would still have fun rackin their brains on design an then dialin in the setupDtw
Do coco dtw mate. Its much easier than rdwc, its more forgiving, has fewer pieces of equipment, plumbing and fittings, more tolerant of root zone temps and so on. And the yield is very comparable to dwc, if not on parity.
20% runoff is massive overkill. You only need that if youre letting the medium dry out which is detrimental in coco anyway. Feed 4-6 times a day and you literally dont need runoff at all. Maybe a few drops if youre new to coco.
Poly tubing, small water pump, few fittings, rez. You dont need an air pump at all; it fucks with your ph. Done.
where ever you’ve got it running. Mine runs into a drain and into the municipal sewer systemCan someone explain where exactly the waste runs to in run to waste systems? Or does it just collect in a tray which needs emptying etc
Where did you get most of your set up from like pumps pots an all that as everything else would be easy to get from a hardware jointThe actual tables, stands, pots, pumps etc...not that much. Easy then , coco, hand water and wet vac any run off out of your tray. Or simply pull your plants out of tent, if that’s what you plan on using, and use a grate / grill over a bucket, place said plant on top of grill to feed them. Empty bucket....easy peezy.Yea im a lazy bastard so the easier the setup the better
Bits and pieces from everywhere, and some of it out of storage. (Bunnings, hydro shop, online, family etc..). I knew what I needed and wanted so just went looking for it.Where did you get most of your set up from like pumps pots an all that as everything else would be easy to get from a hardware joint
Although thats a good idea an is very basic id like to give the res an auto feeding a crack. This years outdoor has been a great learning experience crkd 21 seeds thinkin id gettin a few plants outta it odds were in my favour though an still got 17 on the go although they are not monsters their still decent an have learnt allot so far about all the different factors of growin. Cant beat the aussie sun thats for sureEasy then , coco, hand water and wet vac any run off out of your tray. I reckon your on the right track with building your experience outdoors. You’re lucky you can do that. Keep it simple, and don’t over think it. You’ll quickly loose the enjoyment factor if it all gets too hard, or you’ve over complicated it vs experience.
There you go! Start perfecting your automated irrigation system outdoors first, and you’ll be able to get everything you need from Bunnings or a gardening centre. By the time you give indoors a crack you’ll have a handle on what you’ll need and best of all you might even come up with something that suits your needs perfectly.Auto watering outdoor would of been great. Something i will be setting up for sure fuk this walking back an forth with a waterin can to the tank crap off
Within the homebrewing community, there's an old & very wise adage that's shortened to: RDWHAHBCan someone explain how the moonlight at night when growing outdoors doesnt mess the plant, given the importance of having a light tight room or tent when growing indoors. The full moon is pretty fucking bright.

i was thinking the same in regard to 20% run off, thats a huge % wasted.Dtw

There planted in the centre. I just covered the first 2 inches of stem with coco and leaned em to suit the eventual scrog. 3 plants 2 tubs lol didn’t think it threw but I’ll manage. To get a single tub for a 1x1m tent is like $100. Got these 2 tubs for $18 at Bunnings I’ll make it workPlant your seed in the centre my OCDC says so
Rewerb, can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s got something to do with relax and don’t worry. I.e not sweating the small stuffEnglish
My first run in the tent I hand watered cocoEasy then , coco, hand water and wet vac any run off out of your tray.
