My seedling is under constant light (24/0) but the stem just stays skinny and keeps lengthening. This seed is from some weed I bought so I don't know anything about the genetics. This is my first time growing so any advice given will be much appreciated. :)

Edit: Thanks to anyone who cared enough to say something. I didn't think anyone would reply to this thread so I really appreciate it! Thank you!

Your stem my need support until it gets a bit older. How high above your seedling is your light and what type of light are you using?

That light is extremely under powerd even for veg. I would guess that it's just keeping you seedling alive rather than actually giving it what it needs to grow. Will be very Intresting to see how well it gets on.

What's a good light to buy? I've been having trouble finding the right one

It's an absolute mine field mate. The worst thing about is, unlike most things spending more dosent necessarily get you more. I've spent dozens of hours researching and still haven't got anywhere I jumped in too early and brought a "1200" morsen led (235watt actual pull) don't regret it as such and it's doing a fine job over 1 plant but there are probably better options..
Working out what you actully want is a good start as There are lots and lots of differnt types
Good luck!!

Well lots of guys grow with little HLG lights...running proper diodes and it's not blurple. Hundreds of guys here to advise you...but not me sorry. They are reasonable at just over $100 Shoot for 30+ watts per square foot of your space for flowering.

While it only draws 17W it should be fine for a seedling. Could be it's developing roots, but more likely another factor. Can't tell from pic.

That light would be good for your grandma's basil garden......not good for fast growing plants like cannabis.
Good for g-maws basil garden?...Lets not get carried away. I wouldn't even use it for that!
I am actually shocked you found a grow light that cheap. You could buy 10 of those and it wouldn't be enough for 1 plant.

Hey at least you admit your mistake and you didn't try to reason or back yourself up for buying a crappy light by saying dumb shit like "well so and so said it produced a pound of top self bud for him". People on this site will call you out quicker then you can blink. So you have my respect for your honesty.
