We don't need no stinking witnesses

Who the fuck really cares if Trump demanded help from another nation to defeat Biden?

Most Americans can't even spell Ukraine or know where it is, right?

But wait a moment, 74% of Americans, like even almost all Republicans & Democrats & Independents say they want too hear more from witnesses & see documents relative to Shit-for-Brains scam dealing with Ukraine.

But what do the Republicans in the Senate say about that?

Oh, that's right!

Go fuck yourself, kiss my ass because I'm a cunt that's scared of Trump & his Tweets.

That's what I personally see & it really is very fucking tragic.

I've hated most Republicans most of my life (my father was one, that might have been an influence), but Jesus Christ, at least there were a few that had a sense of decency & moral courage, but no more it seems.

If this country accepts this farce of a trial as a legitimate exercise of Democracy & the Rule of Law in this Nation, we are truly fucked as a Republic & you can thank the GOP & Trump for that.

You have to be one stupid dumb fuck to believe Trump cares about any middle class person in this country. He has never liked anyone but millionaires and is a confirmed liar on every subject.

And the McConnell senate has been a total shit storm for 10 years. They don't have any time for the middle class either, and they lie for Trump.

So, now we're racing towards the moment of truth this November. Could be the last chance to save what's left of the republic. And you have to find a way to win knowing the bastards will be cheating with foreign help which is now defacto legal.

Power corrupts, especially when you're corrupt to begin with.

Houston, we have a problem.

The precedent that was set in todays 3rd ever impeachment trial will fuck up our politics for a very long time. Dems and Republicans can basically do whatever they want as long as they own the senate
So far the Democrats have acted responsible and shouldn't go down the same road that the Republicans have. Hopefully the Democrats not give up the moral high ground by playing the same games with our government, because they are still (slowly due to Republican cheating the system) gaining power.

The Democrats should be able to (barring massive election fraud) walk over Trump and the Republicans in 2020, the big trick is if they can keep power in House and Senate for more than 2 years.

I don't know. I can't think of a time in my life or before when Republikkkans were anything but authoritarian monsters. You might be able to name a few who are or were human but they represent the exceptions that prove the rule.

They all now suck, & have always sucked actually, & will probably continue to suck for eternity.
From every disaster however, somehow, someway there is a reckoning, just like that idiot GW gave us Obama for 8 years.
Hopefully the American public will wise up & finally come to face the facts, which are evident, and those are that the GOP has been fucking the average American ever since fucking Eisenhower at the very least
So, there possibly is a ray of hope in this dibachal named Trump, and that is that the Pubs get fucking destroyed in November
That would be justice

He's set the economy up for a "Democrat Recession". They will bang that drum loudly whoever wins other than Trump. It worked for them before. But I will be grateful to see Trump being forcibly removed from "his" White House.

Imo, that's the most troubling thing that has come out of this

Any president can do virtually anything so long as 34 Senators agree with it

I would not call that a check, that needs to be reexamined by constitutional scholars. I think the ability to do anything should be checked by far more than 34 partisan people who agree with you, that goes for all the issues I support, too. Double the number of senators, at least, we should have a lot more than 435 representatives given the growth of the population. Those that currently hold control will never vote to divide it. It would have to come down to an amendment.

I wrote my Senators and Representative today asking what they intend to do to address this issue. I'll post what they say. I do expect Democrats to address this issue immediately after they gain control of both houses. Other than court challenges already in progress, no legislative actions can be accomplished until Republicans are scrubbed from power.

That's also added to the list of requirements for me. We have to address this and prevent the next Republican in office from abusing the precedent set by the Trump administration

Neither do I, that's undemocratic

Republicans don't support democracy, they only say they do when Democrats hold control. When Democrats try to pull the same shit, they call it dictatorship.
I don't even want the next Democrat to have the power to do whatever he wants.
What happened was a complete embarrassment to democracy. I am real curious to see what happens to the senate in the next election. Even the hardcore trumpers at work were pissed about no witnesses.

I forgot who it was last night that said it, but they had a good point, the Senate is not about Democracy.

The House is the people's house, the Senate represents the land owners.

Corrupt dems weren't smart enough to pull off their sham impeachment. Socialism will have to wait!
