I've had difficulty taking good pics.
They were dense bushes from top to bottom, we took a lot of stuff off that was close to the line but not doing much yet, today was 21 days from when I flipped the schedule so we went a bit heavy keeping in mind they have some growing to do yet. Theres a whole lower layer of branches popping up through the screen that dont show well in the pics. We got those new light today so I expect them to pop up over the next week.
I've never done a strip quite like this, but the canopy above the fence seems pretty even and dense to me. Everything that's below the fence line barely gets any light.

Absolutely do not waste your time or money, they are not made for what we want. They're built for super high pressure like a garden hose. They literally make almost no bubbles. My home made one works like a fuckin hot tub.Im going to order one of these to play around with.

Which pump for flooming?
I dont want to use airstones. I need to floom a rain water barell with the size of around 500 liters or 130 gallons. And then I need to floom also a 150 liter reservoir or around 40 gallons. I am not really sure what pump (specs) I should choose for flooming. Also how often I need to floom...

I run an 800gph and plan to upgrade it to 1000gph DC one after this crop. Would that still not be enough? The 1400 in my veg system pushes pretty damn hard.
I cant find the one he used in that video that will ship to the US, It looked pretty good.
Sometimes I'll buy a commercial thing just to figure out how to diy it for my application. I'm still interested in making my own.

I've been very happy with my outcomes so far and plan to keep doing all my seed like this now. I've done 3 sets of seeds in various methods of seed to hydro setup. The bubble bucket worked pretty well but I think the cloner has been a little faster.

So it's pretty simple. I change the water when the barrel is empty.
-Close valve to float valve.
-Fill barrel. Black hose is run from the bathroom sink at the top of the stairs. It is my backup for when my garden hoses are frozen outside.
-Add calimagic, wait.
-Add dissolved epsom, wait.
-Start pumping out system.
-Add dissolved MKP, wait.
-System drained. Leaves around 5 gallons total in the system unless I shop vac it out.
-Add dissolved MEGACROP, wait.
-Open valve to float valve to ensure it's not clogged.
-Pump contents of barrel into system with 1200gph mixing pump.
-Refill barrel and mix again with same mixture for auto top off.
-Wait until system stabilizes and ph if needed. (Almost never have to ph on fresh change)

LST + topping once = easy 8-16 main branches. A simple walkthrough of how I train.
-grow out some seeds or clones for a few weeks. I got lucky on these 4 and they all had right about the same number of nodes.
-defoliate and lay the plant down on its side. This is very easy in hydroton. Be gentle. If you scoop out some of the top hydroton and give it a wiggle, you can position it however you want. I also choose to remove the stuff at the very bottom of the stem. Usually 2-3 sets that are small and haven't grown into much. I remove all of the leaves on the main stem.
-Top the plant! I will leave 4-8 nodes depending on what I want to do that run. These plants were trimmed and topped to be left with 5 pairs of branches off the main stem.
-Let it recover. After laying them down and topping them, I let them recover for a few days until they start growing back up to the light.
-Tie her down! Pretty simple. I use rubber coated wire made for this purpose. It holds very well. A little hook between the 4th and 5th nodes did the trick here.

Sorry it took so long to find your thread...guess my timing has been off. Boy...you DWC guys have loads of plumbing to do. I once made an entire set up large bucket ebb and flow. 12buckets and diy controller...and I was so disappointed with the performance that I bought a couple of waterfarms...and never looked back...but that's me.
I like the way you lay the plants over and tie. Did mailining last winter...but all that delay and fiddling isn't really worth it to me. It's for guys who like big buds.
So this thread was started in Dec. Must have a harvest soon?

It didnt have to be like that at all lmao. My veg systems is one of the most complex ones ive seen yet. Most people go for simple.
I just wanted to build a system that fit my exact needs and thats what I came up with. It was an absolute blast to build it.
When I first built my stuff, I had a bunch of other people telling me I was over complicating things all the time, but I do what I want and have loved how everything turned out.
It was the complexity of RDWC that really had me wanting to do it. I jump all in with that and havent looked back. Never done anything in soil.
I played with a bunch different topping and manifold techniques over the summer and I found this to be the fastest way to split the plant. 1 top and some super cropping early on is all I need. This current crop was 8 week from cut off their mother to flip.

I was always afraid of hydro. Years ago...a friend bought a hydro kit. He hadn't a clue, and of course killed the plants. So that was my first exposure...never had soil grows do that.
But later...when the Dutch dudes started doing sog...I had to try it. Loved small plant E&F and did it for a few years.
Now just 4 waterfarms and the waterfarm controller and res for automation...and a few coco plants that I feed from the same res.
Working out ok...but my aged landraces...I have to do custom mixes. Only 3 of them right now. It's working out good. Tha landrace sativas take two full hybrid grows to mature. So once my current crop is finished...so will the landraces that I will have planted 16 weeks earlier.
I'm seriously eyeing a different rig for sale in our RV park. It has a fenced private area that I could do an outside grow each summer. Got a guy looking at my place and he'll give me some time to move...sp I may have a different grow space soon. Onward and upward...
