That Oreo jug and bean crock are pretty cool. Are you checking to make sure any of that is collectible ($$)? Every time I go to the VOA and look at all the glassware and ceramic stuff, I wonder how much of it is worth bucks. Is the river by the house "fishable"?I've been moving more breakables. Found a skull with roses cup, so someone was a deadhead. I have to move some stuff from under the counter across the kitchen, but there is room for all of this stuff under there.

I haven't googled anything. But the late husband of the lady we bought the house from had a high end junk shop in Tally. When he died she cleaned out his shop and a lot of it is still in the house. There are some vases marked 2-300 bucks. The wife did google these. They were worth about 125, but some by that guy go for as high as 2K.That Oreo jug and bean crock are pretty cool. I was thinking the same thing yesterday. There is two acres between/behind this land and the piece I own with my sister. If those folks would sign off on it, we could burn 1/2 a mile at once. There is the house and barn that would have to be cleared around, and an old house trailer on the other land that I used to use for a camp. But I doubt they would let me do so much at once. If I had to clear around the two acres, that is 1/4 miles off the road. I would rather let it all lay there and rot than bulldoze a path back there. The woods are such a tangled mess it seems it would be easier to cut some fire breaks and burn it off sections at a time. Still a lot of work doing it that way.
How about offering to "let" a volunteer fire company practice wildland fire control on the property? I know of some houses that were donated to be burned down for practice...worth a try?I was thinking the same thing yesterday. If we have another September and October like last year, it may self ignite and take the problem out of my hands.
That hybrid stern looks made for a trolling motor. It's not too bad, as canoes go. As long as the river doesn't get too high, it's alright where it's at for now. But the next hot day we have, I'll try to drag it to the river or slough and float it down to the house. I looked for a easy way out to the driveway, but it would take a lot of chainsawing, then there are still piles of logs out by the drive to go over or around.

He could throw a 2.5hp on that baby and really get around too! That hybrid stern looks made for a trolling motor.
Not sure if that would work, but worth a try. Florida has made it where you can't burn down houses for practice. My wife's old family home in town burned, and we tried to get them to burn it the rest of the way. No go. Cost about $10K to tear it down and haul it off.How about offering to "let" a volunteer fire company practice wildland fire control on the property? I've got a five horse Sea King that used to run like a top. If it would still work, it would really move it. I have a good trolling motor though. He could throw a 2.5hp on that baby and really get around too!
Not sure. Yesterday was the first time I'd seen it. I'll look for a brand name the next time I go back there. Is that an Old Town, @too larry ?
Just think of what five trolling HP could do for your RIU game.I've got a five horse Sea King that used to run like a top. If it would still work, it would really move it. I have a good trolling motor though.
That is strange, if any state would ban it you would think it would be mine... I participated in one back in the day, it was enlightening.can't burn down houses
