$2T Bailout package

So you dislike the man, but support his policy?

k
This is what Elizabeth Warren is doing:

She's kicking ass, working on solutions of critical issues and keeping Trump's goon's hands off of 500 billion dollar slush fund that Traitor Mitch tried to slip into the hands of Mnuchin. Republicans refused to put restrictions on that money. I mean simple shit, like, "don't use public money to buy back shares" and "no, you can't use this money to give your top executives a bonus". Warren and other Democrats stopped that.

As usual, Bernie hasn't done a thing.

You project, it's not that we don't like the man. It's that we know what to expect from him.

"Sen. Bernie Sanders' for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination campaign's prodigious fundraising operation raised $2 million for charities helping those most affected by the coronavirus outbreak crisis in the last 48 hours in a move that supporters said exemplified the message of solidarity the Vermont lawmaker has run on.

"Bernie Sanders supporters have contributed more than $2 million in 2 days to charities helping people whose lives have been impacted by the coronavirus," tweeted political strategist Tim Tagaris. "Not done yet."

You know who hasn't done anything?

Joe Biden.

Try facts next time.

"Bernie raises 2 million dollars" while Democratic party senators work to get trillions into the economy and available to hundreds of millions of people.

This is exactly what is wrong about Bernie and his cult. Bernie is a US Senator. One of the most powerful positions in the world. Where is Bernie? He's out moonlighting as a social activist. Aggrandizing himself by raising money "for the poor". But, I get it. Bernie isn't capable of working with others and crafting that bill is way over his head. So, he's AWOL from the Senate during a crisis, which is a good thing.

So easy.

Joe Biden pushes Trump for worker protections in coronavirus bailout

Former Vice President Joe Biden called on President Donald Trump to make protecting workers a priority during his first on-camera address about the coronavirus.

Pushing Trump to get off the dime and effing DO SOMETHING is what Biden and Biden alone can do. Raising $2M for charity is what celebrities and influential businessmen or their spouses can do. I said it before when a Cult of Sanders fool crowed about how great it was that Bernie got Starbucks to increase wages. Nothing wrong with that. Except while he was doing that, he wasn't doing his day job as a US Senator where he could have been doing something just as great for millions instead of thousands.

Oh, and Biden isn't a public official. He can't write bills or vote on them. Where was Bernie in this weekend's debate over that bailout bill? I can't find a single mention of him.

On another measure where there was a record of who voted and who didn't, I found this:
Sanders (I-VT), Not Voting
Romney (R-UT), Not Voting

At least Romney had an excuse.

If the money is only increased to the people and not to the corporations, that's a redistribution of wealth. which helps the people get out of debt.
The problem is that we are already $23 trillion in debt. There is no wealth to be redistributed. When the fed prints "magic money",they create more cash than service & goods have provided, meaning the cost of living is forced to rise in connection with all this fresh fake money. This new "injection" of cash is simply stacking the debt even higher for our grandchildren and so forth.

Tell it to the people who are starving, and need $1000 to survive. I'm fairly certain they'd rather pay an extra dollar for their lunch due to inflation than starve. Oh sorry, does that affect your bottom line?

With coronavirus cases in the U.S. mounting into the tens of thousands and our economy sliding into recession, Washington is locked in a brutal standoff over a $1.8 trillion economic rescue package. Democrats are outraged by a measure that budgets $500 billion for corporate bailouts that the administration could administer with little transparency, which they call a “slush fund.”

That provision is bad enough. But there’s another one hidden in the massive stimulus bill, which was drafted by Senate Republicans, that Democrats also see as a major sticking point.

And the battle that’s brewing over this particular provision says a great deal about the stark divide between the parties’ priorities over how to help the country through this crisis.

The provision in question is a limitation on funding that the GOP stimulus bill has built into the measure that sets aside $350 billion to provide loans for small businesses. That money would be available to small businesses that don’t lay off workers.

According to language in the bill forwarded to me by a senior Senate Democratic aide, this provision excludes “nonprofits receiving Medicaid expenditures,” which would not be eligible for those loans.

This language has been interpreted in some quarters as an effort to deny funding to Planned Parenthood, a longtime GOP target. But Democratic aides think the language means a lot more than this.

Specifically, Democratic aides believe this language would exclude from eligibility for this financial assistance a big range of other nonprofits that get Medicaid funding, such as home and community-based disability providers; community-based nursing homes, mental health providers and health centers; group homes for the disabled; and even rape crisis centers.

“The Republican Senate bill would prevent many small Medicaid-funded providers from accessing small business loans,” Mara Youdelman, the managing attorney of the National Health Law Program’s D.C. office, told me.

gotta love the GOP.

your business is not "essential" so you have to close. but you have to keep paying your employees. on income that just vanished. and you can't get money b/c you fired all your workers.

you have to hand it to them though, how they keep getting normal people to keep voting them in is impressive.

An extra dollar?

Take a look at how hyperinflation works, it's not quite that easy going.
