I've been using Gaia Green products with great success lately. Specifically, their 2-8-4 Power Bloom and their Kelp Meal.
Looking around the internet, I came across Nature's Pride Top Dress Bloom, which is sold through Stepwell Soil's website.
Price wise, here's the comparison in Canadian dollars (based on local pricing):
Gaia Green Power Bloom (2 kg container): $4.54/pound
Nature's Pride Top Dress Bloom (5 lb bag): $11.40/pound
The Nature's Pride product is 2.5x the price of the Gaia Green product. Then there's this:
Gaia Green top dressing directions for 5-gallon pot: 10 TBSP monthly
Nature's Pride top dressing directions for 5-gallon pot: 16 TBSP per month
Nature's Pride costs more to purchase, then you have to use a larger amount. This means that the monthly cost of the Nature's Pride top-dress is quadruple the cost of using Gaia Green's Power Bloom. Based on the ingredients and product descriptions, or better yet, your personal experience, what is to be gained by paying the extra cost for the Nature's Pride products?
I'm not insinuating anything about either one, just that I know how good Gaia Green is and wondering if I'm missing out by not trying the other one. Maybe it’s the wood biochar that makes the difference? I’d happily spend a bit more if it meant bigger, better, tastier buds.
