Grams per watt

Rusty, here is what I don’t get. What’s up with your current grow? Certainly 3gpw is not something that you choose to do only to prove a point. If I could get 3gpw I’d be doing it day in day out. Lots of talk about what you’re going to do, just show us a pic of one that you did do.
3 GPW is a terrible thing to attempt to accomplish. Why in gods name woukd you wanna reduce yor yeilds by so much? Just got 2 gpw but only to lose major g/sq'. Not always does that happen. Have maximized both simultaneously before but not in this past case. I had to dim & Raise my Trinity so high just to get the plant to grow out of shock or shyness of the light. Strain specific problem but still.
So ended up with almost 2#'s of smaller buds, decent amount of popcorn (not counted into weight) using like 300w on the Trinity & maybe 50-75 w of photon spray by the QB's.
While othe plants hit 1.5-2 & produced large, area filling NugWads!
Light & strain dependent for plant health under the Trinity in flower so far. Not an easy light to use. Although has to be the brightest damn thing i ever saw.

If I switch lights at day 10 of flower from 300 to 800W, how do I calculate my g/w?

And one of my plants was male, can I factor that in too?

What about the larf and dry trim?

Just give us your real numbers, no need to be ashamed folks. Not talking to anyone specifically just not a ton of concrete data in 18 pages now.

i Know it’s simple math but if my area is 12 ft by 12 ft then how many what’s would I need to achieve 30 or 50w per square foot?

When does it end? "SIMPLE TRUTH" Grams per Watt is only accurate when measuring the weight of fixtures. Plants and associated variables are not repeatable. Your house or a warehouse. "Never Known"???? You want at least 100 w/sq ft. min for flower.

Do you know how much of that space you want to light?

If you want to light all 144 square feet (flower wattage), 10 600 watt HPS will give you just over 40 watts per square foot. 12 600 watt HPS will give you 50 watts per square foot.

Each 600 is good for 12 square feet max.

Your room is 12x12 or 144 square feet.

To light the whole room at 50 watts per sqft you need 7200 watts of HPS.

7200 / 600 = 12 lights
I concede. I am not smarter than 5th grader. Was smart enough to buy a graded fifth though. Yes twelve.

11 lights is hard to spread evenly plus best results can be achieved with a touch more wattage so 12 is the best option if you are set of 600w hps.
