Grams per watt

I run LED now. But I would say 4. That's low wattage in flower. How about 4 at 600W MH changed to 1000W HPS for flower. Still FOUR.
Currently I have 3 HPS 600w and 1 spider farm 2000, kinda trying to do what I can with what I have. Could possibly add 2 more MH to my collection as I will have 2 rooms.

Six 1000w DE HPS lights would do that space if you can hang them at the proper height. The 600 SE's would be able to run closer to the canopy is what I am saying.

This whole time I am mentally picturing a room with at least 8 foot ceilings lol. You gotta throw that height into the equation. HPS is really a poor choice when there is LED that can yield the same per sqft of canopy, be run closer and cooler, lights aren't as thick, less wattage = less heat... The next large grow I setup will be done with LED not HPS. Yeah it costs more to buy but the savings add up in the long run.

HLG is the direction I would go. The SF2000 is basically a mars right?

A SoG with some HLG QB lighting at 35 watts persqft would jam that space.

Grams per watt is a metric thats good for comparing lighting efficiency and cost of production but to compare yield then grams per sqft is a better metric as that just means how much you pull out of a given canopy area. Of course then time is another factor. A Sog may pull 4 crops a year when a larger plant might pull 3, just to compare those you start saying yield as grams/sqft/year lol

Yeah I understand hps may not be great for my space but I got them from a friend cheap which is why I have them.
There are mixed opinions on LEDs vs HPS so it’s been hard for me to choose.
it’s been hard to choose which LEDs to buytoo, but I will invest in some after current cycle

SF are slightly better than mars

Mars uses old epistar chips, with a ugly reflector, uses more watts but less efficient, sf uses LM301B diodes with quality driver
